Well, Well, Well...now people will know the rumor is true. It was thought to be a myth that this accomplished marketing mind was indeed a musical artist. Redline (for short), has an array of childhood and adult experiences that extends the normal Hip-Hop & Rap genre and really provides a true listening experience. Growing up on Atlanta's Southwest Side (The SWATS) and then moving East to Lithonia, Redline had the best of both ATL worlds. The Redline 99 sound is one that should not be categorized. He is conscience, hardcore and spiritual. "My music is reflective of my emotions, experiences and personality. It takes you on a journey that embraces personal struggle and triumph. My music ranges from things that happen on 'the street' to things that happen on Wall Street". Though I came up in what was sometimes a challenging environment, I was the type of kid that loved to learn new things. My mother was a huge influence in this learning (and on my life) and sacrificed a lot for me to be who I am today along with my stepfather. If they weren't around I could have totally derailed my life (though I still got close a few times). Mom always told me that education may not be everything, but it will more than improve my chances for a better lifeÖnot to mention that without grades I couldn't play sports, which was my ghetto pass for my scholastic efforts. All these things influenced my music and friends start affectionately calling me the "Intelligent Bad Boy". I was running the streets and at the same time graduated from High School with a 3.7 GPA and even went on to college (Twice) and finished grad school with a 3.5 GPA and a MBA degree with a concentration in Marketing. Why is this important? I started out in my teens promoting nightclubs and even had my own night when I turned 21, which lead me to making my own music. It is my work in marketing that has continued to open doors and allow me to fund and pursue my passion in music. What was just a creative outlet from the daily grind of work is now being heard and examined meticulously by labels, managers, artists and companies because of my thought provoking content range and never heard before lyrical metaphors. I attribute this versatility to my life experiences, extensive domestic/international travel along with living and spending time in both large and small cities such as: Chicago, Houston, New York, Miami, The Bay Area, Greensboro, NC. Anderson, SC., etc. Currently I reside on the left coast, spending most of my time floating between Long Beach, Los Angeles, Phoenix and Las Vegas. "I love seeing and living things through my own eyes so when I tell a story, it is really my story. "You can definitely tell the difference between someone who is talking the talk from someone who has walked the walked". I hope you enjoyed the old school club track as I had a lot of fun making it.
