The Blackwizard discovered drum ‘n’ bass in 2001 with some mixtapes of DJ Hype and the albums of Talvin Singh and State of Bengal. Bass player, guitarist & percussionist, DJ, set on music from all over the world, he likes the unexpected mixtures: Indian music, rock and electronic music are among his first influences.
At drum'n'bass parties, he develops one mix dynamic for the dancefloor and transcendent for the spirit. He loves all kind of drum'n'bass, especially the current jump-up, very liquid & ruff, but also the dark and violent one hardstep/techstep.
His recent work includes a breaks remix of the ‘International’ track originally by MC Jamalski (NYC), played by Afrika Bambaataa and all over Europe, soon to be released as a bonus track on the next Jamalski album. He is also set to release a darkstep remix of ‘Tarana’ from the last Shri album, ‘East Rain’, after playing on live with Shri last year in France (Blackwizard on guitar, Shri on flute & tabla & more guests).
He's currently working on electronic tracks (dubstep, breaks, drum’n’bass) gathering metal, indus, traditional indian music & classical music and is looking for musicians to create an original project, made of electronic music, metal, drum'n'bass, reggae/dub & indian/oriental/world music.
