I dream for the day, that every team would have their own TV broadcasters. That would own, but know it would be a HUGE feat and never happen, in the next 20 years anyways.
That way Yankees fans can be annoyed with their horrible Steinbrenner paid fanboy announcers. :-p

every fan thinks that any announcer that is not his home teams annoucer is biased. I used to think Joe Morgan had a grudge against the Cardinals until he picked them to win the world series all last year...Boston fans really don't have a leg to stand on when it comes to people being biased especially considering that they are on the game of the week every saturday and they and the yankees get more espn games than anyone. If anyone has a right to complain about bias its every team not from New York or Boston

Umm, read the blog site, 75% of the Fox games of the Week on Saturday were Yankee games.
Same with ESPN. It is either Yankees or Braves.
And no, I rather enjoy other teams announcers, when they are not gloating about how awesome their no name second baseman is.
FOX sports Jeanne Zelasko even made a comment about the biased nature being snide when they said something good, she made a comment, "see maybe Boston fans wont think we are as biased".
That aside, I think every baseball fan cant stand Fox Sports.
As far as ESPN, I barely saw any Boston game on ESPN (unless they were playing the Yankees), I saw a TON of Yankee games, as well as Braves and Giants.

Huh? The Show was the best baseball game since MVP05, and is some ways surpassed it with more baseball details.
I wish this game comes close to what that game was control wise last year. Pretty bad how a PS2/PSP game last year in The Show had better control and animations than 2K6.
I had to sell 2K6 back to EB the same day and buy a slim PS2 and The Show because 2K was so bad. So I prey they get it right this year, since I don't want to have to buy a $600 PS3 to play a good game of baseball that is up to date.

The career mode was sweet, but I wasn't feeling the gameplay.
And, of course it had Rex calling games. I just wasn't feeling it. The animations weren't even that great IMO, not that 2K's was any better.
All baseball games in general in 2006 were trash. :(

It's just a matter of taste. I'm not gonna argue with you over which was better, I'm not trying to be a 2K fanboy cause last years game blew, I just really don't care, it's 2007 now.
I'm just at the conclusion, in my opinion, all last years games had bad flaws and it was a bad year for the sport, MLB '06 did have something good with the career mood though. But, as long as 2K7 is fixed, the graphics already look very good, well, then I'll be happy... :)

Playing straight professional, and having a heavy biased lean in your play calling are two different things. I never said they were not professional, but they do, especially Kay, have a huge lean that is very noticeable.
I mentioned Mike and the Mad Dog, because radio shows tend to be more biased, they are both on the YES network, and it is funny how a radio show can show less bias (especially Mike being Yankees fan) than Michael Kay.

Of course theres going to be bias with any teams home announcers. These guys are in and out of the locker rooms/dugouts, etc before and after games. They develop personal relationships with the players and probably their families. I mean most of the teams annoucers are the same for extremely long periods of times. From Spring Training through the playoffs, these guys see and talk to their own players probably every day for 9 months out of the year.
And even for the national guys (McCarver and Buck) (Miller (when not with the Giants) and Morgan).
These guys probably all have strong ties to certain teams either because they played for them, grew up rooting for them or had family that worked for them (Buck with the Cards). I guess all you can hope for is that they limit it as much as possible.
But also, this is a video game and that bias isn't going to make it in the game. I'm assuming that a lot of what they record for a game is scripted and editied meaning that you are not going to hear the biasness in the video game that you would in a real game. So as long as they get to guys that work well together, the game should be fine.
Oh and as long as it is not Tim McCarver:

the problem with MOST network announcers ESP ESPN, IS THAT they DUMB down the game for the "frickin casual fan" i dont care about the casual fan and ive been watcing baseball for over 20 years. i dont need mr hall of fame second baseman telilng me....."yeah john he has him 3-0 here he has to throw a strike, he cant take a chance on walking this guy" or any of the other number of "lets make sure the NON BASEBALL FAN listening understands what is going on. i call morgan Dr. Obvious becaue every thing out of his mouth every baseball fan REAL BASEBALL FAN already knows... i cant stand those to OVER HYPED idiots on sunday night games give me the fox announcers any day of the week... morgan shoulld be fired and never heard from again.. same with his fat *** partner.
Sorry guy but you're gonna have to live with this one. And frankly it's a good thing and shouldn't be changed. It's done in almost every major sport. Why? Because everyday someone watches the sport for the first time. There's always someone new who decides to follow a particular sport and the leagues want to make sure to keep that person watching. And how do you keep someone watching, make sure they understand what exactly it is that they're watching.
So as long as you watch baseball on tv and it's a 3-0 count you'll get an explanation of why the batter has the "red light" and how the pitcher is forced to give him something good etc. etc. And it'll be this way till the day you die.

lets see if steve lyons tries to revive his career in mlb 2k7. Even in a video game im sure hell still figure out some way to make fun of a blind guy or say something racist. Best of luck to you Steve! (umm not)

I believe that Chip and Skip Carey for the Atlanta Braves would work out just fine. The only problem is that, every now and then, Skip goes off on these "old man" stories that have nothing to do with the game. They are kind of funny though...

No, it's Don Sutton and Joe Simpson that are the boring ones. Skip and Chip are slightly less boring with a lil' comedy thrown in...
I find it interesting how Skip will be talking about John Smoltz on the mound and then suddenly break off and start talking about some fishing trip he had with him, Smoltz, and some ancient baseball player you never heard of.
As my father puts it, "It makes for good take-a-nap-and-wake-up-to-see-the-score baseball."
So yea, they are boring, but interesting :)

Hey, if you want to bring the braves announcers into the picture then i think that it would only be fair to suggest SNY's Chris Cotter, who is the funniest sideline reporter guy that i have ever heard. Big step up for mets fans from Matt Laughlin.
If you want to see a small sample of cotter see this link...

Thanks for getting me all excited to see this funny sideline reporter. I mean I was pumped man I was like " Yeah this guy is gonna be funny man, cool!" Then I clicked on the link and watched some jerkoff try to tell me how I can go and buy mets dreamseats. If you are going to say that the guy is funny and worthy of being in a video game you need to bring something a little more to the table than Navy guys sitting in recliners.

sorry thats the only link i could find. The best thing that ever happened to him was when he was sitting alone in the upperdeck of the skydome and in the middle of his report some girl came up to him and tried to hit on him, but when she was a couple of feet away she noticed that the guy was on TV and she ran away.
