Thats a bit disappointing. So many possibilities for sports games with that system.

I like the wii's ingenuity but unfortunately its lack of power is going to leave its owners missing out on alot of 3rd party multiplat games. Until they sell more its not gonna be worth it to developers.

The wii is selling like hotcakes. I think it's going to take some time though for certain games to get on it. You see with the other systems developers have a benchmark to what they want to attain. With the wii most devs know nothing about it's real world capabilities and what they should be striving to attain on those systems. Give it time though, I think you'll see some 2K titles there. They also have to get a finger on the wii's core market. They may see it as a system space where a sports sim wouldn't fly well with the majority of wii owners. Grandma might like swinging a controller to hit an imaginary ball and watch the little guys run around trying get home but I doubt she's gonna wanna manage their budgets, work some trades with budget, figure out when best to pinch run and keep tabs on the bullpen, inning , outs and number of starting pitchers pitches to figure when and if to bring a closer or MR guy.

Sure they do, it is a bumped up Gamecube, not much else power wise. It uses the same dev tools as the Gamecube.

It may use SOME of the same dev tools as the gamecube but it's not a carbon copy, also it's quite a bit more than a "bumped up gamecube"
