I always clean out the Cubs and fill the team with first and second year players I've never heard of. Then I start my season.

i WOULD think they would because he is probably the biggest name of any AA player right now. If not, he WILL be in the first update. And I WILL trade for him in my White Sox Franchise. :)

I did that once, on the 2K4 game I believe, I had like Rickie Weeks, who was a huge prosect in the game, and Grady Sizemore, ect. I got kinda bored of it and just managed the team for a couple years until they became contenders.

I don't care for star players. I like having no-names on my team, and then turning them into stars if possible.

Samardzija is actually in single A playing for the Peoria Chiefs. I doubt that unless they have all three levels of the minors that we will see him. Having said that he did sign a Major League contract so he might get in one of the updates.

I'm a hardcore Yankees fan, so I'll play along with the season, with up-to-the-minute self-edited rosters, playing the scheduled game on that day.
Only bad thing is rain-outs, because then you don't always match up with real life. :D

I'm a huge Redsox fan but I want a challenge and i'm to lazy to play with two team because I play all 162 games. So i'm going to go with the Marlins. They are a young talented team with A TON of potential. I'll probably Trade Willis for Fransisco Liriano (if the twins accept it.) I'm going to try my best and not make an all-star team like i've done in the past. Is that a realistic trade?
foofighter2455
February 11th, 2007, 01:48 PM
not too realistic because liriano is damaged goods now with a predisposition to injury since his days with the giants.

I like this guys style I do the same Start off with Cleveland then Toronto Then I like picking a more difficult team to make better like the Rockies or Mariners. But Indians and Jays are my teams so gotta do them first i usually take whatever roster looks most accurate first. Ill play like 4 seasons each but once the no name players come along i start to not care as much but it all depends. plus my seasons are always 20-40 games

Happens every year that a team is good. Look at all the Blue Jays fans coming out of the woodwork since they have improved. There has always been a lot of Cardinals fans just for some reason people seem to notice them more this year. The Cardinals are one of the most popular teams in baseball and always have been. A lot of the reason for this is they are over 100 years old and for a lot of years they were the western most team in Major League Baseball. Another reason for the strong Cardinals following is their former radio station. Up until last year the Cardinals games were all broadcast on KMOX radio which is a 10,000 watt powerhouse. I live near Chicago and can get KMOX to come in clearly at night. The Cardinals also have 118 radio affiliates in 9 states. Of course winning the World Series helps to increase your fan base but so does having the best player in the game in Albert Pujols and one of the best pitchers in the NL in Chris Carpenter on your team not to mention other recognizable stars like Scott Rolen, Jim Edmonds, David Eckstein and Mark Mulder.
If you want to talk about some fair weather fans there is no team worse than the Chicago White Sox. Yes they do have their core group of die hard fans that followed the team no matter what but I can tell you for a fact because I live right in the middle of "Sox country" that there have been a whole lot more people wearing the black and white since 2005 than there ever was before.

Not really....
CARDS2501

yeah its clear that the Braves fans just don't give a crap. Any time a team is in the playoffs and they can only sell half to three quarters of their tickets you know you have a real problem with your fan base.

For some reason, as bad as it's been the past three years, Seattle's fanbase has stayed strong and the M's still continue to have one of the highest attendances in the MLB. They have been in the Top-4 for the majority of the 2000's outside of the last two years, which they were still Top-10. Griffey, Edgar, A-Rod and now Ichiro have given us a good reason to stick around. The 1995 season got me addicted to this club, the first year I ever watched baseball and the '95 M's is the best team I have every watched, their comeback to the title in the last 4-6 weeks, the 2001 season was something else as well. I actual attended over 25 games that year and saw win #114. The nice thing, Seattle doesn't have many bandwagoners, even when they won 116 games.

I have always been a cardinal fan since i was little. But i'm from PA, about 1 hour east of pittsburgh so i don't kno many cards fans from where i live. I'm stuck around Pirates fans and i always hear " Next year is the Year of the Pirates", tho i do respect the pirates since there the hometown team but they just flat out suck. But it sucks that i have never been to a cardinals home game but i have gone to games when they play in pitt.

I go to a lot of Braves games every year and it seems like we don't have a lof of hardcore baseball/Brave fans going to the games unlike Boston and NY where you can hear a baseball fan.Mostly kids and families which really PO because I can't watch a game in peace. That might be why we really don't have a lot of fans now and why playoff games are half-empty...

I think that the reason the regular season and playoff games are half empty is because the fans are used to seeing the Braves win in the regular season and first round of the playoffs. If the Braves get back into the playoffs this year I bet all that changes,.
