I think that and realistic loud crowd noise are the only two pieces missing from taking thier presentation to the next level. I mean if i hear the "Jose Jose Jose" chant at shea i might just **** my pants.
But seriously if only part of their exclusive lisence with MLB would allow them to get all of the stadium sounds and batting songs that would be awesome.

I used the yankees this last year and they had the bleacher creatures call out the names but hopefully they make it better this year

dont get your hopes up guys 2k has allways been lacking in the sound department college 2k7 was the first game where they got things down pact. im sure youll hear some stuff but dont expect to hear everything that you would hear at a game if you were there just be happy with what you get and make suggestions fo rnext year without throwing a temper tantrum like people do on these forums.

Or maybe the mets fans mocking the stupid tomahawk chop like we did when we won the division last year.

Now that would be amazing...

Ha, let's get one thing straight, the Mets got lucky last year. It was a good year for you, no doubt. But, had the Braves had something resembling a bullpen, you know you would have been stomped...

Bring that mess to Turner Field this year and watch as Smoltz puts a tomahawk chop to your face...http://2ksports.com/forums/images/icons/icon10.gif

sorry but a couple of bodies in the bullpen wouldn't have gotten the braves out of 3rd place and wouldn't have made up being 18 games out of first. You don't win 97 games out of luck, just like the braves didnt win all those division titles out of luck. For the upcoming year I see the mets as the front runners but with heavy competition from the phillies. I still see the braves at 3rd place, despite whatever additions they made to the pen.

They did add Raphael Soriano to the rotation and you mark my words in the National League this cat is going to be an absolute stud. The Mets and Phillies both have their problems I do not see any reason why the Braves cannot contend especially since they have a FAR better manager than either of the other two teams.

That'll be really sick if they had real life sounds from every ballpark.I doubt its gonna happen but if it did it'll make you feel like your really at the stadium.

Good point, but you have to remember that a large majority of the games the Braves lost were because the bullpen was unable to hold a lead that the starters had gotten. Reitsma blew way too many saves to be effective, and the middle relievers were undependable at best. Our offense wasn't the best in the league but they put up more than enough numbers to do the job.

So, yes, bullpens do win or lose games. And had the Braves had anything resembling a decent bullpen they would not have finished so low in the standings. Would they have beaten the Mets? That's hard to say, but it would have been a much closer race than it was...

Man i hope they add custom stadium music. Like nfl2k5. I would like to get rid of the stadium organs and add my own music there..

What would be cool is if they brought in the stadium specific in-between inning action. For example when playing at the Cubs, someone will lead the singing of "Take Me Out To the Ballgame" or when at Miller Park in Milwaukee, they have the sausage race or the Ferogie Race in Pittsburgh. Stuff like that would be cool

This is where I get a little confused...

The game prides itself with it's television broadcast style, which if really emulated would mean that you would hear very little of the actual stadium atmosphere noise and if you did hear it, it would be muffled and hidden in the background of the announcers.

I mean if you watch a game on TV, you usually cannot clearly or fully hear a players intro music, the PA announcer or heckles from the crowd.

And obviously, if you are at the game, these things sound much more clear, but you don't hear the actual commentators.

I think the game should have a point of view option:
1) Strickly Broadcast: You hear all of the commentary and can slightly hear a little bit of which is going on in the background, but miss the majority of subtle backgroung noises. (Replays are shown as true cut-scenes like on TV, and the commentators would commentate on it)

2) Strictly in-stadium: You hear no commentary, but the PA announcer, player music, heckles, chants, etc. (Replays are shown on the scoreboard-the camera would zoom to the scoreboard and you would hear the crowds reaction)

3) Somewhere in between: Kind of like what is doen now, where you get a mix of the commentary and stadium atmosphere.

Option 2 actually sonds very cool, but i think it is unlikely that 2k wants to part with John Miller and Joe Morgan.
I think they should stick to what they have now for the time being, but when somebody comes up in a big situaion, or somebody gets a big hit or a homer, the announcers should just shut up and let the crowd noise do the talking.

I guess you could just go to options and turn the announcer volume all the way down and turn all of the other sounds all the way up (crowd noise, sound effects, etc) to get this effect. Or to simplify it, they could have a few different presentation options.

But like you, I think it would be cool either late in a close game or in the playoffs to hear the crowd go crazy or hear them boo in unison to a bad call.

yea i tried turning the crowd all the way up and the whole thing, but they dont sound excited....

Ooo heres an idea. Sicne 2k has exclusive rights can't they kind of do what madden did with NFL films and take sound bites from the crowd or players from big moments in real life and put them into the game. Thats a start.
