View Full Version : Something I think should be added..

See if any of you agree with me on this. I think that the baseball games should have training that you can play. Like in football games, you can go into "Practice" and try out plays. I think there should be something where, you can go in and do batting practice, then fielding practice (have balls hit to the position you're playing) so you can get adjusted to how to move to the ball, etc.

Anyone agree with me on this? Or think it's a good idea. It seems like it wouldn't be very hard to put it in.

having the option of batting practice before a game would be cool...but it'd be too fun to put in a video game

I agree wholeheartedly on this issue. In fact Trevytrev and I had a long dicussion about this shortly after the release of last years game. http://www.2ksports.com/forums/showthread.php?t=77644

I agree that batting practice or shagging flyballs for a couple mins before a game would be very fun. There could also be a strategical part bulit in regarding what palyers do you want to get more hacks and so on.

the Tetris pitching game that MVP05 was almost as much fun as playing the regular game. I will still sometimes turn on MVP just to play that pitching game

Well, I don't really want a mini game, I just want realistic practice. Of course I want it to be fun, but I happen to think practicing for baseball and trying out stuff and BP is fun. Like the others have said, I think it should be a little bit before games.

2K could have added this because I remembering reading about 2ks OTHER baseball game coming out this summer called "The Bigs" and someone from 2k said that there are mini games that you can play to increase your players skills. Now just put that in THIS game, and tone it down from arcade to realistic, and there you go.

Here is my idea for how it could work.

You can either just flat out play it and practice the game from the menu, or you can go into a season and use it for getting your team ready for a series. Example: You have a series coming up against a team, you go in and you actually get to choose the kinds of things you need to work on to be ready for that team and you can actually go into it and actually PLAY the practice.

Also, as others have said, it can be before games. Something such as BP and throwing the ball around, it'd be fun and get you ready for the game so you don't go in cold. Believe it or not, it takes you a minute to adjust to the games when you first start up.. I also think you should be able to do the warm-up pitches. Just things like that, and also make it so you can skip it if you don't want to do it, because face it.. you wont want to every time, but sometimes it'd be fun.

I like this idea other than it could also take you away from the game/season too much. Maybe make this option for minor leaguers/injured players/players in slumps. This could help out young players in developing faster, along with injured players to get back into rythm or players who actually need the extra time put in. If not for injured players, maybe add in for the first time ever assignments before the DL with feedbacks on how the injured player is doing down at AAA or AA and if he is good to come back. Show his stats down on the farm, along with how the injury is comming along. And of course we need that 40-man roster finally put in at September 1st.
