All-Pro Football. It rolls off the tongue with a certain kind of glee and happiness only the holidays seem to conjure; A certain type of happiness that can only be kindled by the reawakening of a lost one. And yet, this is that case, rejuvenation, but also redemption of sorts. Excitement and wonder are only but a couple of emotions we will feel during the course of this journey to APF 2K8. We should also remember what was, and condemn the company who took it away. But even with that said, I am a firm believer that everything happens for a reason, and maybe with the loss [of the NFL License] we have gained much much more in the long run. We have won the rights to call a revolution in gaming our very own work of art. Sure, NFL 2K6 would have been great, and we would have all played it as if the turmoil have never happened. But now that this loss has indeed happened, we have learned to stick together and stand by one another; but more importantly the game’s foundation has had more time to grow and blossom. Now we won’t be getting just another football videogame, we will be getting a total revolution, a revolution that could only have happened with the loss we suffered. Now we lay the base for something great, and when we do acquire that license soon in the future; who knows? Will we even really need it?
In conclusion I would like to wish 2K sports much luck in the future and also say that I’m very excited for this release. I know you won’t let us down.

Damn man, your getting me pumped up.
Im so glad they are doing this. Maybe if we're lucky, and the game does well enough, they'll pick up some steam to bid for the license when its available.
Not that that matters to me at this point. Ive been waiting for this for the last two years.

Look, I'd like the real NFL to be in the game too, but let's look on the positive side:
The NFL is very protective of its image so it has a lot of sway and influence over how any final product which bears its name turns out.
This is why there are no late hits, no fighting, no relocating of teams, no decent scoring celebrations, and no ability to create expansion teams (among many other things) in Madden these days.
2K is producing a game without the NFL peeking over its shoulder so if they have an idea they like, they can put it in the game wihtout having to ask anyone's permission.
They've always had amazing ideas, so scr** the NFL license.

who needs the nfl?...i dont care too much for it anymore...A generic game will have logivity because of replayability...Each team will be virtually unknown and unpredictable...Imagine going through an entire season not knowing if the team you playing this week has a mobile QB or not?...What if it has a 6 '5' Wr and your Dbs are on average 5 '11'?....what do you do?...Listen, madden had the nfl license but nobody enjpyed playing it - except morons under 15 yrs....It goes to show that its all about gameplay...Its about the gameplay...its all about the gameplay....its all about the gameplay....More cutscenes, more dynamic environments, real time weather effects...Realistic commentary - bring back Dan Stevens and Peter O keefe....Dont forget the blimp...

I don't think 2K5 was intended this way, but with the aggression model I made, players get hit and knocked down after the whistle. You'll also see players still going at it a lot after the whistle. I myself KILL QB's long after they have nothing to do with the play (I've knocked a few out of the game that way). However, there is no flag for it that I'm aware of.

Yeah, I know brother, but my Xbox died shortly before I got my 360 and I just never replaced it.
A friend of mine downloaded your mods and was raving about them and he had me convinced that I needed to buy another XBox just to play 2K5 with your adjustments.
I was just about ready to do it when the APF 2K8 announcement was made.
Honestly, now I'm torn. Do I blow the hundred bucks plus to buy a used XBox and an Action Replay (an item I swore I'd never buy, I hate cheat devices) or can I wait until August?
I just don't know.

That's a tough one Rob. Of course, I'm partial to the situation and would say, "Hell yeah!" But it comes down to how long you can wait. With that said, having a copy of 2K5 is not a bad idea; it's like Tecmo Bowl in the sense that people will be playing this one for generations.
Heck, having an XBOX-One is not a bad idea. It's still an incredible system. It still impresses me all the time.

Aw, hell. Who am I kidding? I'll end up doing it anyway, I'm a junkie. (slaps crook of arm to expose vein)
Besides, I'm getting really tired of Microsoft and all of their backwards compatibility issues anyway. It's the only real weakness of the Xbox 360.
I just know that the day after I buy the Xbox-1, they'll make 2K5 compatible for 360.
Puckin' funks.

Man, all this talk of 2K8 is getting me pumped up. I can't believe they are finally going to make it. God knows i was getting tired of Madden, especially on Nex Gen. I always wondered how 2K would do on Nex Gen, i hope 2K8 puts Madden in the grave.
