View Full Version : I'm EXTREMELY excited for 2k8 for 360

Madden continues to fail me, time after time, year after year. NFL 2k5 was by far the greatest, most exciting simulation football game I ever played. The online leagues were quite simply amazing; it made the game THAT much better. The controls of the game were revolutionary. The tapping 'A' for running was a great feature. What I'd like to see in 2k8 is, again, another outstanding presentation aspect. Improved and advanced online leagues. Online fantasy draft with the leagues. 32 teams. I understand theres no NFL team names/players, I'm quite all right with that, however, I'd really like to see amazing player models. Madden fails so hard on player models/game play; it bores me beyond belief. I'm 24 and have basically given up on football games for video games systems. I'm a casual gamer, not hardcore, but 2k5 blew me away. When someone can impress me that significantly with a video game that I played through online leagues for over a year, then job well done, VC, job well done.
Aspects I'd like to see in the game:
- Different playbooks per team (offense and defense)
- Online leagues
- Online fantasy drafting
- Extremely customized league home pages
- Ability to hire and fire ANY coach throughout a franchise (offense/defense coordinator)
- If you bring in a new O-cord or D-cord your team changes morality and playbooks
- Contracts and incentives affect players on the field
- Deep deep true-to-life franchise mode with all the happenings that occur in the NFL
- Gang tackling
- Amazing running / tackling animations
- Ability to modify player's gear
- No pass is un-defendable
- Corners and safties play true-to-life
- Exciting looking stadiums and announcers. Keeping the commentary new and refreshing.
These are just a few simple, basic ideas I threw together. If you have more please add to the list. Theres plenty of time before 2k8 comes out!

i didnt really like the way they ran in 2k5 and all of the 2k games they need to make it more realistic and loose and i think they should also have hit stick or something to go for a harder hit and i also agree with hot_dong on evrything he stated

The "hit stick" Blows. The "Y" button shoulder charge is much better. There is noting about Madden that is good enough for a 2k game, shame on you. Also on Defense tap X for a hard hit, black button to strip the ball and hold X for a wrap up sure tackle, it's all already there in 2k5.

The running game in 2k is light years ahead of Madden. If you ran into your OL he moved forward. In madden and its pinball physics you just stand there or could be turned around (which I still don't understand how that happens)

That's what I thought, too. I'm not a Madden player, but from what I've seen, 2k5 was pretty realistic in my opinion.

-Different playbooks per team (offense and defense)
I hope that they really can expand on this. When you play a team it should really feel different than the team you played before. I would also like the ability to choose the playbook before a game like in madden.
- Extremely customized league home pages
That would be cool,I bet people who run leagues would go wild with that one.
- If you bring in a new O-cord or D-cord your team changes morality and playbooks
This is a great idea! It would be nice to pick up an offensive coordinator that had some new plays up his sleeve. Would be a nice unlockable while going through the franchise. Imagine if there were hidden plays that would only unlock after you hired a certain offensive or defensive coordinator.
- No pass is un-defendable
??
- Corners and safties play true-to-life
Yet something else I would love to see expanded upon..Especially when a qb is scrambling. I played receiver so I know how scary it is to be running in the open field when a qb is running because you no longer know where the defenders are. I want punishing blows when a qb leaves a receiver out to dry.

Aspects I'd like to see in the game:
- Different playbooks per team (offense and defense) =ALREADY IN 2K5
- Online leagues =ALREADY IN 2K5
- Online fantasy drafting =THAT IDEA BLOWS
- Extremely customized league home pages =I GUESS YOU NEVER FORMED OR BEEN ON A 2K5 ONLINE LEAGUE
- Ability to hire and fire ANY coach throughout a franchise (offense/defense coordinator) =I AGREE WITH THIS ONE
- If you bring in a new O-cord or D-cord your team changes morality and playbooks =I AGREE WITH THIS ONE
- Contracts and incentives affect players on the field =YOU NEED TO BE MORE DETAILED ABOUT THIS ONE
- Deep deep true-to-life franchise mode with all the happenings that occur in the NFL =YOU NEED TO BE MORE DETAILED ABOUT THIS ONE
- Gang tackling =ALREADY IN 2K5
- Amazing running / tackling animations =ALREADY IN 2K5
- Ability to modify player's gear =ALREADY IN 2K5 (WITH FINN'S EDITOR)
- No pass is un-defendable =CALL THE RIGHT DEFENSE
- Corners and safties play true-to-life =CALL THE RIGHT DEFENSE
- Exciting looking stadiums and announcers. Keeping the commentary new and refreshing. =THEY CAN'T USE NFL STADIUMS SO THEY WILL BE DIFFERENT

You need to sit down and play 2K5 instead of getting your info from someone who likes Madden and hasn't figured out how to play 2K5 yet.

I've played 2k5 PLENTY. Like I said, since you obviously didn't read my entire post, I played in an online league for over a year. You're an ignorant pathetic waste of life. This thread was about feedback, great job contributing nothing to life. Hang yourself.

Yea it seemed like the receiver would have some invisible halo around them or the ball would always be over your head. They just need to have it where you can feel how close you are to committing pass interference. It would be nice if the controller would rumble(like R* table tennis when the ball is close to being out)to show how close you are to pass interference. So you could get close and maybe put a hand on the receiver's back and then put the other hand in air to deflect the pass. But if you overdid it you would push the receiver, cause him to fall or grab the jersey. That would be a very nice risk and reward for the manual user.
