I hear there is supposed to be some type of a big game on Sunday. Do you think its possible that 2ksports would utilize this key timing to promote apf2k8? Possibly during a commercial of said game? The commercial part seems somewhat unlikely to me, because apf2k8 lacks the NFL lisences. But I don't think that it is a coincidence that they announced this game at the time they did.

They really did utilize ggod timing in announcing this the week of the Super Bowl.It is the 2nd most looked at game over at Gamespot.com today. That is pretty great for a game that is not being released for 6 months.
I encourage everyone to go there as well to the discuss section for this game and leave comments and start threads.Let us create a storm that will send those EA coward back to their caves!!!

It would be perfect timing. While everybody mind is on Football this week. A commercial would be spectacular. Even it they just flashed the letters acrossed the screen 20 seconds it would be great advertisement.

Good idea but I don't think its gonna happen. TV ads cost way to much for Take 2 to try to promote this during the big game. Maybe they might advertise on another network during the half time show like on MTV or Spike. I wouldn't waste millions of dollars to get this message out while Coca-Cola and Pepsi are going to steal the show. the tried to edits me saying C o k e....funny

Possible, yes. Likely, no.
My gut tells me it's just an honest coincidence.

Word travels fast....MTV or Spike Tv commercials wont cost that much...If they put the word out now, they got roughly 3 months of free "word-of-mouth" advertising...
For example...Only probably 10% of casual gamers, know 2k is coming back...Close to 70% of hardcore gamers already know by now....An AD now will very well push the percentage of the hardcore gamers to within 98%, even without another commercial until launch time (summer).....If 98 % of the gaming community gets to know, its only a matter of time before the casual are brought along....2k has suffered from people not knowing they exist, and of people not taking them seriously...
A commercial now will save them millions later in Summer....Word of mouth econimics
