Ok well i want to see how creative we can get cause most of us are definitely stoked about 2k8 so yea out of the 32 NFL teams take one and rename them..so if you were asked by VC to give them one edited football team what will you give them ?
So you can edit basic anything but as long as people know who they're playing with player and team, you can rename:
Team
City
Stadium
Head coach
Players
and etc...
I'll take the Miami Dolphins and i'll have my team done in 3-4 days.

If you guys want the NFL so bad, go play Madden 08. Seriously. Why can't people be happy that they even had the balls to release a football game? Everyone just simply has to have the NFL. Ok go buy Madden. The NFL are the idiots who allowed this mess in the first place.
BE HAPPY WE HAVE A FOOTBALL GAME AT ALL FROM 2K!!!
I'm really getting annoyed by all the NFL talk. Can we just play a really nice FOOTBALL game from 2K for now? And when the license is up, worry about the NFL at that time?

If 2K does the right thing with this game I wouldn't even want them to get the license EVER! There's SO much more a company can do with an unlicensed game that they couldn't do with the NFL putting the handcuffs on them. Let's wait and see, but personally if 2K took advantage of this freedom I guarantee that the REAL ballers wouldn't even want 2K to get the license again.

I think they should get a drop down box with created teams names that the announcers will call ex: Tampa Bay Pirates. They allready have this feature on the Hockey game and give you a drop down box for the Names like they do in the NBA 2k7 and College Hoops.

Not that I want an NFL based game, but clearly they will have a fake-NFL model as one option. So here is mine with logo ideas. Some of these I have used as fantasy logos before.
AFC EAST
Toronto Tundra---Buck Deer or Elk logo
Connecticut Yankees--Uncle Sam
New York Nightmares--Bat
Miami Tropics--Gator
AFC SOUTH
Jacksonville Jaws--shark
Memphis Pharaohs--Pyramid or Jackal head
Houston Drillers--Oil drop inside D
Indianapolis Wheels--wheel in motion
AFC NORTH
Columbus Cannons--flying cannonball
Pittsburgh Hammers--similar to Berlin Thunder
Louisville Steamers--Similar to Memphis Showboats wheel
Chesapeake Claws--crab/lobster claw as letter C
AFC WEST
Denver Rampage--Ram's head (think CSU)
Oklahoma Scouts--FSU Arrow
California Goldrush--Heisman pose guy
Los Angeles Stars--LA with Star inside A
NFC EAST
DC Power--lightning bolt
New Jersey G-Men--Badge
Dallas Rawhides--Horse
Philadelphia Colonials--Stars/bars logo
NFC SOUTH
Orlando Suns--Sun w/flare
Birmingham Speed--spedometer maxed out
Gulf Coast Pirates--Jolly roger
Carolina Copperheads--Snake head
NFC NORTH
Chicago Wind--Hancock building with wind forming a C around it.
Milwaukee Hogs--Combination of razorback and harley images
Minnesota Wolfpack--wolf head, think UNM
Detroit Diesels--Speeding truck
NFC WEST
Vancouver Kodiaks--Bearpaw print
Arizona Sting-- Scorpion
San Jose Samurai-- throwing star in flight, or sword
LA Surf-- Wave crashing
Just some ideas, my hope is that the game has about 100 quality logos that are recolorable and a ton of names in the sound files so that we can rename teams and put them in a wide range of cities. I personally would love to recreate the USFL in the game, or my fantasy league. But I expect some NFL-modeled fake league as well.

I agree 100%. I was bummed at first about the NFL exclusive deal with EA, but the whole deal kinda turned me off to the NFL. I still watch it but I'm not into it like I used to be. They just seem like they only care about $$ (not anything new I know). I am so much looking forward to see what Visual Concepts does with all this freedom and not having the NFL have to approve everything. If things go well with AP2K8, I could actually care less if EA bought the NFL rights for the next 100 years

It's encouraging to see so many REAL ballers in agreement with me on this. This is a golden time for 2K right now. They could actually change the NFL's stance on videogames. If this game becomes THE game to have the NFL is going to have to re-think what they allow developers to do with their games. If APF2K8 were to be "Game of the Year" without the license and were to hold high regards for the remainder of the unlicensed period then the NFL and EA would have to seriously rethink their whole outlook.
This year is going to be a wash. People will buy Madden 08 regardless. 2K is going to need that full year of exposure to really get in the people's mind. So don't expect Madden 08 to take any dip in sales. It will because some of us just wont buy it, I won't. But it's not going to be any huge dip. Next year is when we can see the results, if any, from 2K's game.
But if the game does really well the NFL might have to decide if having their game portrayed like the real thing is worth going back to the non-exclusive license thing. Of course all of this is backseat to money. As long as EA keeps forking over that dough the NFL will keep it like it is. And if 2K keeps doing things that EA knows they are years away from making happen then their only recourse will be to buy the license again. BUT EA may pressure the NFL to let them do more than what they've been allowed to in the past.
All in all I see negotiations between the NFL and EA not as happy-happy as it was in the past. I can see EA wanting to do more and the NFL , at this point, not letting it happen. Of course all of this is capped with the fact that I really don't care what EA and the NFL does. As long as 2K makes the superior game thats all I care about. So don't drop the ball 2K.. EVER. You got the ball at the 5 and it's first down. PUNCH IT IN BABY, PUNCH IT IN!!!

TO you on point. All we want is a game from 2k. NFl or not. I also read somewhere that the NFL can opt out of their contract with EA at any time. Since they havent yet I believe they are happy just getting paid. They are not concerned at all about product or the image of their league in this regard. Its all about dollar signs.
Here's my team:
Philadelphia Bodybags
Philadelphia, Pistolvania
Smif & Wessun Stadium
Logo would be an alteration of the Public Enemy Logo.
Coach would be Licka Shott
