I remember LOVING the NFL2k games, but i remember hating alot too. I remember how they would change or forget a great feature/improvement from the previous year, for what reasons i never knew why.

2k hasnt made a football game while, they may not start strong with 2k8. It will be them trying to feel out how they make games for the nextgen systems. Those of you playing 2k5 will be the most disappointed. I suggest you DONT play any previous 2k game so you wont get frustrated at favorite features that WILL get left out or changed. I doubt this game will resemble 2k5 much. it will be a NEW game, almost like a different franchise.

People have their hopes up as if 2k8 will be this beast of a flawless football game. It wont, and people will right here cursing the developers days after it comes out. Some have hyped this game up in their heads to unrealistic levels

keeps your hopes high, but dont overdo it. this will not be the perfect Madden killing game...yet

if NBA2k is any indication, 2k9 WILL be the huge improvement though. we'll just have to bare going through the growing pains with 2k8.

Shuttup, dude!!!!

Seriously, though:

Yeah, we're getting out of hand.

Yeah, we expect way too much.

And yeah, some of us will expect something completely different than what we get.

But have you read most of these boards? I think that the faithful (notice, I said faithful)here have got a really good bead on what it takes to make a good football game and they are just happy to see that we get a choice again. Overall, I think we have reasonable expectations and we will be happy with what we get in final release. I'm overjoyed to have finally found some people who agree with me that a football game should be more than what we are used to.

There are some really great ideas on these boards. They are reasonable and achievable and if we don't make our wants known to the only developer who has ever heard our voices, how can we ever expect to get what we want?

The reason we post these notions in the first place is that 2K has proven to us that it reads this crap and actually takes notice. We just had some guy post some BS about baseball and he was warned and booted into the appropriate board at 10:30pm! Who has people watching their boards like that? EA certainly doesn't.

Speaking of, read the Madden boards on EA.com sometime. There are literally thousands of good ideas. Much more than are posted here. I'm here to tell you that those wishlist boards are full to capacity every single year. Do we ever get significant improvement in Madden?

Nope.

We get a superstar mode that is broken because a bad camera view makes it no fun to play. We get a QB vision mode which only serves to complicate the controls, adding nothing to gameplay as promised. We get a lead blocker mode which is well done, but wouldn't even be necessary if the game's A.I. weren't as broken as it is.

A regular on these boards keeps posting over and over, "why shouldn't we expect these wonderful things to be implemented in the game? We aren't asking for too much. We should post our most ridiculous ideas in the hopes that they are incorporated somehow into the game."

I'm paraphrasing, of course, but the idea remains.

I'll put it this way: if 2K produces a bad game, I'll be amazed.

Starting with NFL 2K and going all the way until ESPN NFL 2K5, VC has not failed in making a great football game yet.

I think they have a better idea about what makes a football game fun more than anyone else out there.

I trust them.

They will deliver.

I truly believe (maybe in blind faith, I grant you) that anything 2K brings out will kick Madden's ever-loving a**.

Because they listen. That's why I believe my faith in them is founded. They heard us and our critiques of their series every year and they responded.

If EA did that with Madden, they wouldn't have to spend $300,000,000 on an exclusive license.

It's simple, really. They hear us, they respond, they have great ideas. Their only real competition is Madden, which we all say we despise because of its repeated flaws.

How could this game not be great?

Oh, by the way, it doesn't have to kill Madden.

It only has to satisfy the faithful.

I have faith...

I think the only thing we have to worry about is how bad the bugs & glitches will be.

I think that this is the perfect time to get back in the race for football supremacy. Not like 2k didn't already have the title with 2k5 but anywho. Although we are all happy that we get a football game this year this will really show the NFL that they should have never let EA take it. They will be knocking down the door of 2k to make a game with their players and by that time some of the kinks in the engine will be fixed and improved upon.

I don't think anyone expects perfection. I haven't played a game that I liked yet that is perfect.

People post ideas and wants... they are not do or dies!
This is a place for people put in their 2 cents. Nothing wrong with that.
I have a bunch of stuff for them to add to their features, but I truly don't think they can or will do them all.

Honestly... if they take care of the glitches from the previous version and upgrade here and there I will be fine.

Both games need to work on one major issue.
Your animations need to be true.
Don't show me a CB who turns his back to cover deep suddenly jumps the route he is not facing to make an INT. That type of change is not real and neither are the animations of the DB running up the field suddenly stopping and moon walking back to the ball to turn around for an INT.
I don't care what his ratings are they should not be able to do this.

If APF2K8 was NFL2K5 with generic players, updated graphics, no more D-Line glitch, and better defensive AI; it would be well worth my $60.
