these are broad questions:

just wanted to know if and/or how they improved the game or is it a roster update?

there were a lot of options added to the 360, how many were added to this version?

Oo man thanks I would appreciate it if you could help me

1.How is the gameplay?
2.How is the new menu screen?
3.Is it smooth?Any glitches? And what are the new features/improvements like?

The ps2 version is horrible. Exact same look and feel as last year's version. No new signature styles, same old ugly Fred McGriff hats. I knew it wouldnt look anything near as good as the 360 and ps3 versions, but I did expect it to be different than last year. Ah well, here's to being too cheap to upgrade to the next gen systems.

I just purchased both games for PS2 and you an expect my full review tomorrow. I will review both games and grade them in categories that you request on a which is better scale. Categories I have in mind already are: Gameplay, Graphics, Realism, GameModes, Difficulty.

My setup:
27" CRT w/flat screen
PS2 hooked up with component cables (progressive scan).

I am a huge baseball fan, and I love realism. The more authentic the better for me, so if you like arcade style games my review might not be very helpful.

Too cheap?Speak for yourself, I can get an Xbox360 if I want it, but I want a Ps3, and thats ridiculous money wise right now, its not cheap, its smart

I have my copy, had it preordered from EBGames. But, the good news is I wont have it for long, already have some bids for it on ebay. Guess its time to upgrade to a next gen system to get the game that was advertised.

I haven't gotten to a game yet, but the rosters a ****ed up! The Yankee's have six guys rated 100... the Mets have five rated 100 including Alou! It's insane... I'm trying to fix all the rosters now.

Yeah, I'm in the same boat. I've spent the last 45 minutes putting FA's on teams and doing trades like the Gonzalez/LaRoche trade. Then, I gotta change names, fix ratings, on and on... :(

Ichiro is a 100!

1.How is the gameplay?

1. The same as last year but not very glitchy and a couple improvements.
2. The same as last year, except instead of blue they have silver.
3. Pretty smooth, I've only encountered one problem. When I hit a line drive to Jeff Kent it was a little choppy, but it returned to being fine right after.
There is a new batting camera and fielding feels different... much smoother. I'll have to play around with it more to answer your queston better.

Oh yeah... no graphical upgrade.

I just got it and I feel like I just wasted 35 bucks.I only played it for about 2 minutes. The sound track is different...no Nirvana,no Pixies which sucks because those are 2 of my fav bands. The ratings are all messed up...J.D Drew is 100! And the pitching view is from over the pitcher's shoulder which I hate and I don't know how to change it.

I can't believe some of the critiques I'm reading. The Music stinks? How vital to a baseball game or what bearing on the outcome of a game does a Pixie song have?

You only played the game for 2 minutes? What's that....1 batter? You spent more of your life listening to your PS2 boot up for crying out loud.

J.D. Drew is a 100? Ever heard of a roster update my friend? Assuming most people play Online

And in a 1 player game, why would you want anything less than the over the pitcher camera view when you're pitching? When you watch baseball on TV, where's the camera shot coming from? Uh huh....over the pitcher's shoulder. But to each his own I guess

(sitting here stunned)

Anybody a little more patient and objective (that's played it for at least a few hours/games) want to shed a little more light on the situation than Skelator has?....please feel free to do so. Thnx

btw: just ribbing ya haight. But those were pretty weak dude :D

There are a few new animations. The double play is improved, dives are better, and I even had Bonds go into the stands to snag a fly ball. It's better than 2K6, but overall it's the same game. It's a solid game, just not what next-gen users have. If you take the time to update the rosters you can have fun with this game.

the worst game i ever played on ps2. don't buy it for ps2. i already sold to gamestop. i bought from some other store. i got 18 for 30.

you guys are going way too overboard on this i mean you all expect a next-gen quality game on an old-gen system i mean you get what you paid for or haven't paid for, i will be upgrading soon but 2k is great for online leagues so just suck it up play the game and when you can upgrade do it otherwise get over it.

it sucks fellas, its about 98 % EXACTLY the same game from last year. only big improvement ive seen is you dont hit a million foul balls when trying to pull the ball. ugly player models, boring animations, cut scenes are a pain to watch. lag in the fielding, and batting make playing a pain. only good thing i can say about it , is it does result in realistic results. but it lacks too much, may have to check out the show, but im sure that sux too. sure miss mvp :(

You obviously haven't wasted your hard earned money on this game yet. After playing for a hour I still think it sucks.I really wish I had wait to see some reviews for the ps2 version first.

50% of the players are rated over 95! You shouldn't have to get a roster update to help with player ratings.

It's just false advertising. Why wouldn't those songs be on the ps2 version? It doesn't really matter but I feel ripped off.

And I like pitching from the catchers view I just hate over the shoulder for some reason.
You should at least have a choice shouldn't you?

I just read the preview for The Show on IGN and it sounds great... damn! When I was driving to EB to pre-order 2K7 I was saying to myself I should go for The Show instead, but no I gave into my 2K love... now I'm stuck with 2K6 Part Two. Come Saturday I'll be playing The Show.

Read the preview if you haven't...

I just returned MLB 2K7 for The Show! It's soooo cool! I haven't even played it yet and I can tell it's better.

I got a full refund at EB for 2K7. just tell them it's glitchy as hell and it's a complete ripoff... if your luck they'll give you a full refund. If not they'll give you $25 or something...

The graphics are slightly improved over last year. The animations are MUCH more smooth, however you still get some glitches like last year's. I honestly wish I'd saved the $30 and put it towards the 360 version when I get a 360 later this year.

I cant believe I spent 30 bucks on this game. The next gen games look amazing, and I was expecting the PS2 version to be a little worse. But come on, this bad? I feel like Im playing MLB 2k6, with updated rosters (even though half the rosters are wrong). AND WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED WITH THE PLAYER RATINGS? There is over 60 guys in the game rated 100. And 95% of them are hitters too. What a joke. Ill play the game because I love baseball, but Im pretty ****ed. They fixed about 2-3 glitches, but there's still some remaining from last year. I guess we all have to Upgrade very soon, as companies aren't gonna put any work towards Old Gen games. The 1 thing I don't understand are the rosters though... :(

I bought MLB 2K7 after being content with MVP 2005 for too long. What I didn't like was the rosters were slightly outdated. My team by default had a 40-man roster but the extra players were fake. Is there a way to download the current 2007 rosters online? Or do i have to create each missing player by myself?

actually with the ps2 version, roger clemens is in free agency as a black guy, with a different name, but if you download the first updated roster roger clemens is actually in the game in free agency
