First off, I wanna say that Mvp baseball was the greatest sports series ever. Key word "was". I never have even given any other baseball video gm series a chance. But now that myself along with all the other 360 owners are limited to only one baseball title this yr, it 2k7 or nothing. With all that said I think this gm is incredible. Online is where it is at. Franchise never has and never will interest me when I have an INTERNET connection and am only a few clicks away from play a human opponent. Here are some key differences. Other than the obvious i.e. Graphics, Features, Depth.

Batting & pitching:
In mvp you would continuously play against opponents who would never even consider throwing a fastball in zone. Pitch location was too precise, and you could get by pitching low-and-away all gm looooooooong. It would get repetitive.
With mlb2k7 pitches don't land exactly where you place the pitching cursor. Sliders slide & curveballs break from their intended location.
What I love the most, and this may have been in previous 2k games, is how the cursor will go hay-wire if your pitcher's composure is low. Forces you to make a statement pitch. And you can't continue to hit that low-and-away spot. You'll be forced to bring the heat in the zone.

Fielding: I liked Mvp's fielding best. It was much more intuitive with the analog fielding. With 2k7 fielding feels too scripted. It leaves something to be desired. Although the animations are amazing.

Hot/ Cold zones (9 grids red, blue white): No more is this vital information available to all players at all times like with Mvp. In 2k7 you are given scouting points to use at the start of each gm. Here is how it works: You are given a 150 points to use. A player such as Chase Utly will cost you 90 points. While a player like Shane Victorino would cost you 50 points. So your limited to how many opposing batters hot/cold zones will be revealed.

Online Leagues: IMO baseball makes for the best sport to have online leagues. The carry over affect of pitchers fatigue effects not only the gm you are playing, but future gms as well. No longer can you expend all your best options for the sake of winning just 1 gm. Can not tell you how many 20 inning plus gms I got into with Mvp bcuz both players would pull out all the stops to win. Pitching lineups that would go from Pedro to Schilling to Wakefield. All for one game.

All in all mlb2k7(360) should be even more enjoyable than MVP 05.
