yea wut the hell? I'm about to finally go to the store and pick up the game, but I'm afraid that the aspect ratio will still be screwed up like it was in the PS3 demo. Does the retail version play in 4:3? somebody please respond.

Well, it's formatted for a widescreen ratio I think. My standard TV fits most of everything on the screen, but some stuff at the top and bottom get cut off.

I can't recall if there is a setting you can change or not. I'll have to check later tonight.

Gamespot's tech info of the game claims that it works on 480p, 720p, and widescreen.
http://www.gamespot.com/ps3/sports/majorleaguebaseball2k7/tech_info.html?om_act=convert&om_clk=stats&tag=stats;techinfo

The TV I'm using now is in SD at 480i (i'm getting an HD tv this fall). I'm assuming the demo only came in widescreen format, but I'm still cautious about going out and getting the game today.

Anybody here know if MLB 2k7 works at a 4:3 ratio? The demo was clearly in 16:9 even though my PS3 settings and my tv is at 4:3.

Somebody on this forum has to know something about this. This is the only PS3 game in which I've encountered this aspect ratio problem.

Yeah I'm surprised that nobody else has complained about it here before.

Me too. After all the searching I did on the topic I only found a few people who talk about the ticker being cut off and only one person who had my exact problem (the squishing of 16:9 visuals on a 4:3 tv).

This thread I resurrected is the only one on this forum that deals with the issue.

It's the same on the 360 also. I have a widescreen, but am on a standard 480p HD while I'm visiting my girlfriend, and I am noticing that the screen looks like it's been mushed in, almost as if the game were only made to look correct on a HD WS tv as opposed to a standard TV, and I've tried everything to fix it without success, so, if anyone can come up with a way to correct the problem, please let us know.

Well hate to break it to you guy's but the only way to fix it on Standard TV's is seeing if your TV has a 16:9 Widescreen option. If not and youre stuck at 4:3 your pretty much screwed. I was like you i played the DEMO and i was like WTF? this looks nothing like the movies that i dowloaded. So i was like let me change my TV settings to Widescreen and BAM! it fixed it and the game looked totally different. 2k really screwed alot of people with this game being visually screwed up on SDTV.

you're right damanjinx. however I still don't think I'm ever going to buy this game because of all of its flaws. getting robbed of a homer 4 times a game is ridiculous.

LOL... well to tone that down turn dont the outfield speed to like 30 or something that will solve the majority of that. As for what erks me about this stupid game that i cant play anymore is finding the right game for me. From All star settings the power of the CPU is rediculous, and the have eyes like gods. Im soo tired of adjusting the sliders if i say take more strikes the AI takes way to much, if i tweak and say swing at balls, they swing to much. Its like sliders screw everything up. ...And also FIX THE D@MN!!!!! ROCKET ARMS. 2k YOU HERE ME!!! I am soooo sick of this stupid Problem. Getting thrown out FROM THE WALL at home on a direct throw are you kidding me. I mean seriously Do any of your programers even watch baseball or better yet, how bought you go to BlockBuster Rent MLB2007 and take notes on how arms and relays are supposed to be used. So annoying i use the sliders and put them to 0 and guess what it DOES NOTHING... Post patch WOW... i get advertisements on walls. Hey heres a theory why dont you fix the problems with the GAME!!!!. Sry. I needed to vent cause i love this game but all these little problems kill it for me.

Try darkspace's sliders while lowering the outfield throwing arms to 30. (and BatterContact and BatterPower to fit your skills, 20/10, 15/5, etc)

It's difficult for me to imagine that the game can possibly play more realistic than this.

One also has to realize that NO out of the box" settings are going to work for all. It's frustrating, but reality.

Hey thanks my man, i used the sliders and i did what you said lowering the outfield arm speed and bumbed up the Computer Contact a bit and got some great pitch counts both ways. I cant beleive the difference in the game. All they need is to change accuracy of outfield throws and and lenght and this game will be golden.

I always played and owned mlb 2k6 on all-star settings, and I have to say that mlb 2k7 is really difficult with with that difficulty setting.

Do the darkspace sliders really fix things? I'm still not sure about buying this game.

Do the darkspace sliders really fix things?

No. It's one big conspiracy for the lone purpose of increasing Darkspace's confidence.

Of course it drastically improves the play and enjoyment of the game. :D

Is the home run robbing fixed with his sliders?

Is the home run robbing fixed with his sliders?

Yes and No.. Unf so far i have played 5 games with the new sliders and ive seen 3 hr steals. So im assuming that is better then before, but does not get rid of them completely. And also Darkspace's Slider's work fantastic.
