I started a franchise and it looks like all the existing salaries are divided by 10 (i.e. A-Rod's salary is 2.5 million) however when I go to sign a free agent they want a salary that is not divided by ten (i.e. Clemens wants $13 million a year). Is there a way to correct this problem or should I say good bye to free agency?

I explained in another thread that what I think that is happening is that when a player is already in a team for the purposes of a team budget the players that r already signed have a low salary but if that same player was to become a free agent he will ask for his real value.....but i guess in order to keep exsisting teams budget realistic they kept the players already on the team at low salaries in order for everyone to have a decent budget

I've only worried about my Indians Franchise and it's budget. Are the budgets varied like in previous years where the yankees are the evil empire with limitless funds and the small market teams have to scrape for talent or is all equaled out on an even playing field?

It's not comletely equal, but the yankees have a bigger budget (the highest i believe) than the royals and marlins. It's just the yankees dont have a budget of say, 200 mil or whatever their's is supposed to be.

the problem is a glitch.
see when you dont update the rosters at all the payroll and budget stays normal. a rod is now making 25million instead of 2.5 million and your budget is also normal. once you update the rosters by 2k online update or personal update the payroll and salaries gets screwed up big time.
there is also a 10-12 year old 5'"2 110 lbs boy on the yankees farm system.

Are you talking about that update when I first put the game in my system? First time that ever happened. I loaded 2k7 and then my xbox live thing game up with "update avaliable for this game".?

That's not true... I have updated my rosters, and I just double checked all the "big time" salaries. A-rod is at 25 mil, Jeter 20 mil.. etc. Everything seems to be correct if you are in the GM career. I'm not sure about franchise though.

I'm in franchise, and have the roster update, and the salaries are correct.

i will check to see if they corrected this but as of 11 am eastern time the updated rosters caused both gm and franchise to screw up. maybe its just the 360 version or something but there are many reports of this happening so im definetly not a lier. just check around this forum and you will see its true younggm84. make sure your loading the rosters prior to starting the franchise because they reset even after you load them and save them.
