I have both. There are very very few differences, in fact ive only found one noticable difference. Both games look identical, i had them hooked up side by side...they look exactly the same graphics wise. The one thing....Centerfield has a team logo in the grass on the ps3 version...but 360 version has actual grass cuttings. That is honestly the only difference ive seen so far, maybe someone else can comment and has noticed something else. The ps3 version seems a little better, i have had a few slight skips on the 360 version...my catcher was railed in my first game in 360 and he hit the deck and popped up out of nowhere standing there...just some minor skips like that on the 360 version. Ill be playing the ps3 most.

i just found somethin else, in ps3 the blu ray will save the entire game so u can watch it again if u want to see a big play or something...in the games history..cant do that on 360.

damn i just got back from walmart and i got the 360 version , i read on ign that the ps3 lags a little . the 360 runs alot faster but i like that thing you said about saving the whole game i dont know if i should open the 360 game and go back and get the ps3 version .

the blu-ray saves the game?
also why did you buy copies for both the ps3 and the 360?

I sat down today at EB and played both versions side by side. I don't know what Tizzep is talking about, the 360 versions runs MUCH smoother than the PS3 and I don't see the big hype about saving the "whole" game. On the 360 version every big play is saved and you can watch them again and again at the end of the game as the highlights cycle through until you hit done on the post game screen.
And Tizzep I don't know what your smoking but the team logos are also in the 360 version, the games I've played so far in Chicago the "Sox" logo is in centerfield and in Cleveland Chief Wahoo graces the centerfield.

I dont have a PS3, but I'm guessing 360 would be the way to go, mainly because PS3 sucks, like the Yankees ;)

I picked up both this morning. I played 2 games on both system. There are very few differences. I noticed similar skips in both installations. In my opinion it comes down to which controller and network you like better. I'm going to go with Ps3 more often than 360 simply because I do not want to run out and buy a wireless adaptor for my 360, and at the moment my son has been tugging on the ethernet. I don't like getting disconnected. =/ Also the 360 version has a full 30 team online league which may or may not be a plus to some.

Haha exactly like the Yankees, expensive and doesn't live up to the hype.

so the last 3 people who posted are obviously 360 homeboys who cant afford a ps3. They give no reason for their opinions. Why do i have it for both systems? cuz i HAVE both systems...and i let my brothers play the other one. Instead of listening to people that have no idea wat one or the other is like...just read about them and listen to the people who have them both and play them both. I can tell you right now everything i said above is from my gameplay experience today. the 360 game skips sometimes...and loads in the middle of the game. The blu ray capabilities seem to add more variation, and like i said, the whole game is saved....and you could go replay the 1st inning even if ur in the 8th. Anyone in here who says the 360 version is better....then they either dont know what they are talking about, or dont want the ps3 ver to be better. I am not biased either way....gears of war is the best game ive played...its fun..alot of fun. Madden seemed better for the 360, alot of things were better for the 360..i wont lie, ill tell you how it is...but this game right here...the ps3 version is better. ur not gonna have trouble with either one. both are great games...if you HAVE to choose tho, take the ps3. and my claims back it up.

I don't know how people think it doesn't live up to the hype. Im on my 3rd xbox 360. I still get disc cannot be read errors on my latest 360. I've purchased fans, put the system in heavily ventilated areas, etc. With my Ps3, which I've had since launch, it has never crashed once. The Xbox 360 was 400 bucks. The Ps3 was 600. I still have to purchase a wireless adapter which is going to run between 60-100 dollars. I invest in a large amount of blu-ray movies which to make my 360 capable of that, would cost an additional 200. Then I would have the luxury of getting HD-DVD's.

yea...well there you have it...everyone whos got both systems seems to prefer the ps3...its not a fluke. nobodys saying the 360 version sucks...its great, but the other ones better. not to mention anyone who says the ps3 sucks is insane. its the best system you can get, everyone knows it...and the xbox360 to this day is STILL (after a whole year) failing more than ps3 systems are.

Yes..its ridiculous. This fanboy thing is getting out of control. If you only want to buy one system, and you feel its better for X reason, great. Just don't go into every forum trying to convince everyone else around you that you are right. Most true gamers have both systems and find value in each unit. I love my 360. I currently have found much more use for my Ps3 though. It saved me a considerable amount of money on Blu-Ray. It just so happens that baseball seems to be a tad bit better. Great. If it was better on the 360 I would tell it how it is, and let people decide for themselves.

Don't know what your talking about again Tizzep, I gave valid reasons. I've PLAYED both just because I don't own a PS3 doesn't make any less of an informed consumer. Videogames are my life and have been since I was three and the first time I picked up that orange gun to play DuckHunt. I'm not impressed by the PS3. I have more interest in purchasing a Wii before I purchase a PS3. PS3 is not an appealing system to me, one I'm not forking over 600 bucks and two they don't have a lot of games out that I want.

yep blu ray is awesome. and the fact that online is free for ps3...actually makes the ps3 a more economical descision in the long run....lets see $600 now, or $300+$50 per month for xbox live...cmon. heres a question for you xbox 360 lovers...why should you have to pay for ur internet connection TWICE? that makes no sense. and they are still producing rings of death all over the country. The best thing is getting a $1000 dvd player for less than half the cost. this system provides things that 95% of america has never seen and probably about 50-70% of america doesnt even know about. i went to best buy and had to tell someone why the "blue cased" dvd was $15 more than the "black cased" dvd. haha.

well vinsane...then you are INSANE. cuz you can clearly see the difference...go ahead...tell everyone the game cube is better than ps3. ur not impressed cuz you dont have one. thats wat it is. thats how most of the people are. the least you could do if someone wants to make the best choice is to provide them with good details and an UNbiased opinion...something you have not done.

I'm biased simply because I own a 360? How many times must I mention that I'VE PLAYED BOTH (this counts as the third time now). Had I'd seen a better presentation in the PS3 I would agree with you but the things you mentioned are...
The one thing....Centerfield has a team logo in the grass on the ps3 version...but 360 version has actual grass cuttings.
Which in an earlier post I pointed out to everyone that the team logos are in the 360 version as well.
The ps3 version seems a little better, i have had a few slight skips on the 360 version
While playing the PS3 game at EB during the pre-game loading the blimp flying over head nearly froze as the propellers (spelling?) slowed and the text loaded on the blimp. The grass is smoothed out and not cut (WHICH YOU MENTIONED ABOVE). The crowd on the PS3 version did the same motion at the same time where as the 360 crowd will be doing different things.
As far as "skips" the only difference I noticed is a faster load time for the cutscenes, where the PS3 version is slightly faster than the 360. But the presentation is about the same. (The PS3 at the store was hooked up to 1080i, 360 was hooked up to 720p) making the PS3 look smoother.
And don't go putting words in my mouth, simply because I'm not buying a PS3 doesn't mean I'm telling everyone to go grab a gamecube. :rotfl:

originally my plan was to get the 360 version... then I went to gamespot and thankfully my friend that works there set up both games on both systems for me to compare. The visuals and performance were both great and comparable. Yes the 360 had self shadowing but I like the ps3's lighting better. Based on this I decided to go with the ps3. My reasoning behind this was based on the fact that in the past 3 months I have returned 2 360s... I figure I will be playing this game alot, and don't feel like having another 360 issue. The ps3 has been nothing but reliable, and the games were comparable, so I went with the ps3 version. Both versions have the occasional frame rate hiccup, but overall the game is impressive for both platforms.

Exactly, why run down the 360 when you can get it on the ps3 which has not been known to have many crashes? Im on my 3rd 360 already..and when the baseball games come out each yr I am glued to them for months.

yup you guys are right well i kept the 360 copy so i guess ill play it till ill rent the ps3 thru gamefly . im sick and tired of this fanboys too and you know what 90% of them are kids. people need to stop talking **** of a system that just came out 4 months ago . the new 360s coming out will have hdmi out so the ones that bought it when it came out are stuck like chuck . two 80% of the people that has a 360 paid $200 to buy the HD DVD player , and probably bought the wireless adaptor for $100 and most likely will buy a bigger hard drive once it comes out. so lets do the math $499 + 199 + 99 = 797 thats without the bigger hard drive that will come out and without hdmi so dont talk **** about the price yes it gives you more flexiblity to buy ?? yes it does but you will end up spending about the same about of cash buddy . i cant complaint about both systems i like both of them .

Just because your system hasnt crashed yet, doesnt mean they arent having problems, Ive already had many costumers that have replaced their PS3s Some because they surfed the net and got a virus (I knew it would happen).
I have 37 people on my LIVE friends list (oh yeah PS3 doesnt have that) and 6 have replaced there original, 2 of them did it twice. And sadly, after alittle over a year, I just yesterday replaced mine. But, my system was "on" almost 24/7 every day, I love Xbox live downloads! Did I mention I own almost the complete first season of "StarTrek" the original.
Know it sounds like the PS3 version does a few things better, but according to reviews the online for 360 is better, I guess if you have both systems it could come done to that. If you are big into online you probable already have Xbox Live Gold, and as soon as a gameshark is made for PS3 your going to get hackers gallore. Than again, people have already hacked PS3s without a gameshark.
If your a solitary guy, you may like the PS3 version better, Ive just always been a Shadow Hore and a big fan of rumble.

Oh yea, one more thing, Keep away from the Fans. The 360s run much cooler now and all the fans do is blow alot of dust into your system, that can cause the system to fry.
I have a friend who can fix ps2s, xbox, GC, and now 360s. Most of the systems he has seen people were using fans and their systems were cluttered with dust (more than 4 years worth in less than a year). Most of those he just cleaned up and the system worked perfect. Others the dust caused a short and he had to do full repairs.
Point being, Dont Buy the fans!

i don't even know where to begin with both of your posts... because theres so many things wrong with them...
sony's main secure version of linux OS runs on a completely separate partition, this is solely for security reasons, so whoever is telling you that they got viruses on the ps3 is full of ****. Although possible, it's unlikely, and to date no viruses have been written/reported...
As for your LIVE list.... do some research bro, PSN has a buddy list and is soon to have a new feature called play station space, which will in essence be like my space but for ps3 owners...
And the 360's run cooler? Oh man you are really selling it bro, because they run hotter and LOUDER than any ps3 out there. Hence the new 360 will have a die shrink... Which will hopefully fix many of the problems with the 360...
and before you even tell me I am some fanboy, I have a 360, i am on my third one, thanks to the lovely problems with my first 2... Don't spread ******** man, just because you don't like the ps3 doesn't mean you have to fabricate reasons why... and do some research... sheesh
