OK so first off I go to Duke and am currently a Cameron Crazie so I have high expectations for how accurate our stadium should be modeled in College Hoops 2k7. Naturally, the first thing I did after buying the game was fire it up to see how it looked. Unfortunately, I was rather disappointed, and one issue stands out above all else. On the sideline, in front of the student section where it says "DUKE UNIVERSITY" the background is supposed to be NAVY BLUE, not black.
This oversight may seem minor, but it's very noticeable when you have to look at it every single play. Here are pictures to see what I'm talking about

Seeing the stadium in-game makes me question whether or not the developers actually visited Cameron or looked at photos when constructing the model. There are other issues, like the placement of the end zone bleachers and the fact that nobody in the audience is ever painted or in any kind of costume, and the "Coach K Court" logo is too small, but these are all things people who don't go to Duke won't notice. Overall, I was disappointed that the crazies are treated just like any other fans with generic blue and white shirts everywhere.
I don't expect THAT much special treatment for Duke, and I realize almost every team has unique things about their student section they'd like to see. All I'm saying is that Cameron Indoor Stadium and Duke Basketball are two of the most prestigious things in the entire sport, and I'd like to see the area in front of our student section look remotely close to how it does in real life.

Dude, this is a forum for feedback, thats what he just gave.
good eye, because small things like that can really throw off the feel of the game. especially in a game that thrives on recreating the college basketball experience and atmosphere, you need to get all of the little things right. and something like that is easily fixed, but if no one says anything it will never be fixed.
also i have to agree with him on the crazies. in the world of college basketball, the cameron crazies are legendary. i played NAIA ball, and we always wished we could experience playing against the crazies.(because youre just not playing the team, the crazies are a whole seperate opponent.) hopefully they add in a more diverse crowd for the student section. the whole crowd doesnt have to be painted, just mix them into the student section. the rest can generic fans.

As a fellow Dukie, let me tell you the thing that really sticks out and "ruins" the feel a bit.
Above the student section is the regular seating area. Between the student section and the regular seating area, in the game, is wooden paneling. That wooden paneling is there in real life, but it is MUCH much shorter; in fact, when the Crazies in the top row of the student section are standing (and they ALWAYS are) you can't see ANY of the wood panels! However, in this game you still see ALL of it. In Cameron this is important, as there isn't much gap between the students and the other fans; in the game, there is a HUGE game.
Anyway, just thought I would mention it.

I'm agree with the person above about complaining. Theres one thing to suggest, and another thing to whine. We don't need pics and diagrams because anyone of us can find something wrong with our college arenas. However, every year, graphical revolutions have allowed the game to move in a positive direction. However, there are much bigger problems in the game, (AKA: Running around a Defense, the Hail Mary, Spin in the Lane), to fix rather then whine about how the developers did not nail your stadium perfectly because they didnt visit it, etc.

I don't feel this is about getting it perfect. Of course it's unreasonable to expect that every aspect will be modeled perfectly. It's about getting it CLOSE to right for the most important components of the stadium. This is such a noticeable error, it's akin to screwing up the center court logo. When it's going to be on the screen during every single possession, I feel it deserves enough attention to look remotely close to how it does in real life (unlike the scoreboards and stands, which don't really get much screen time and shouldn't be held to the same standard of accuracy).
It would also take less than a minute to look at a picture and change that color from black to blue, the effort involved is much less than the changes in gameplay you're suggesting. It's just a simple error than can (and should) be fixed quickly and easily.

I dont care what anyone says about "whining"...not being able to get a stadium rendering correct really takes away from the game feel.
I was fired up to play at Vanderbilt last season. They have a raised floor and benchs on the end lines. But not in the game...
The same goes for Minnesota. Raised floor..1 of 3 in the entire NCAA...these things need to be right.

What are you guys talking about. how is he complaining when he gave honest feedback on a forum for feedback?
"Let me create a forum for the sole purpose of getting feedback on glitches, things i missed, and on what people want next year. But i sure hope no one complains about anythings thats missing!"
nothing is more important in a college game than getting the atmosphere correct. and things like this mess up the atmosphere for most players. i know i wish they had the raised floor at Minnesota (played there once). and if you can find something wrong with your arena, why not voice it? you're not helping the developers by allowing them to make the same mistake over, and over, and over, etc... for the sake of hoping they fix "bigger problems"? All the guy really asked for was a color change, which isn't hard at all. we don't need graphical revolutions to make a color swap on an object.
what is the hail mary?

the hail mary in basketball is a shot from half-court or beyond. Usually at the end of the half, or if a team is ahead by three or so in an upset. It's used mainly to prevent the other team from getting the ball, but they aren't supposed to go in!
Anyway.
One thing I've noticed about Rupp arena(go Cats) is that the UK logo is so small it isn't funny. Like this: I saw a video of Patrick Sparks hitting a shot from the U. I tried that. The difference is huge, When he took the shot, it was about a 35-footer. In the game, it's closer to 45. Nearly impossible.
Side-Note: Down with Duke.
Now, I'm done.

I don't understand what the hail mary comment is about. Sure they go in once in a while for me (maybe 1 out 15 times), but nothing I've noticed as excessive and I've been playing ch2k7 w/ friends 5-6 hours a week now for the past couple months. They do happen in real life, every few days on sportscenter there's a halfcourt buzzer beater that went in at the end of a half/game.
Maybe he's talking about the baseball type pass you can do down the court? Yeah it is pretty easy to cherry pick in the game w/ that sometimes but in my experience it just depends on the team who's playing as to how easy it is to do something like that and it's not like you can get away w/ it every play, they do get stolen a good bit too.
