I just got into an online league, but haven't played a game yet. The schedule things looks - good you can proposal a time to play with your next opponent so you both get their.

Bought the game and liked it so far, but wonder about something. The offline franchise and GM modes are very robust. You can sign players for contracts and at the end of the season lose players, have a rookie draft, free agents. bunch of things. But so far I don't see any of this in the online league I joined. No contracts. Makes me think that it is very stripped down. Anyone know for sure? That would be very dissapointing if it is. If so you are basically going to be stuck playing the regular 2007 baseball teams and n real point to playing multiple seasons. Only thing it looks like you can do is propose trades with other teams, but without contracts, free agents, it won't be a real fantasy league or GM type experience. Might as well just play regular quick matchups or tournaments. Be nice if there was an online guide to the online modes and franchise modes somewhere.

Trader, I agree with you about an online guide. Bought the game yesterday and was very dissapointed with the whole online experience PERIOD. It took me about 45 minutes just to find someone with enough 'PING' to play against. There was no online help explaining anything on what things meant, how to setup games, FAQ's, etc. I also joined an online league and was curious on how it works. I believe it depends on how the league was setup by the admin. I heard/read something somewhere about an option stating a setting for a fantasy draft & so on. That would be cool. Almost like a fantasy baseball league except you get to control your own players! Hopefully 2kSports will patch these issues and perhaps come out with an online help guide to answer some questions. I'm not a big 2k guy, but was too impatient to wait for MLB07. I'm starting to regret it unless they fix things soon!!

PS - What league did you join? I believe I'm in "BUDS"

None of the leagues online for 2k have ever had contracts. Thats just how it is. Besides if you get in a good league it doesn't matter about contracts and all that stuff you'll still have fun.

you guys should really search this forum for an online league... most online leagues don't ever get started, and if they do, they never finish, unless you join a league with a website.

the leagues that are looking for members through these forums, and recruit people through the internet, they tend to have a better chance at lasting then the hundreds of leagues created through the 360.

i agree, it's annoying in all the 2k sports online leagues (NHL, NBA and still MLB) that we do not have a free agent pool. i can't wait for the day that they make the offline GM experience the equivalent to the online league experience. but not this year... lame
