If your 360 has died three times before.. what makes you think it has anything to do with 2k7?

How would the game be responsible for crapping our your system? If anything it's just a coincidence and it could've happened with any game.

If this is your 3rd system, maybe you should make sure you're treating it right, giving it enough air and not letting yoru dog **** on it.

i love how a system failing is always because of the owner... that's a load of bs... i am on my 3rd 360, and it's because they generate way too much heat and crap out... i treat all my systems like gold, and they get plenty of ventilation, so don't be a ******* fanboy and say stupid ****... MS is shrinking the die and releasing a new 360, which will generate less heat and be reliable

Listen dude, Im not a 10 year old whose mommy bought the system for him. I purchased my 360 with my HARD EARNED MONEY. I work 50+ hours a week and play my 360 2-5 hours A WEEK. Now, How do I know it was the game. Because prior to the update MLB 2K7 initiated, all other games were working fine since the last time I was sent a new console. Yes you are right, it could have happen with any game, but MLB 2k is the only game I played that updated and now everything is screwed. So, I KNOW it was caused by 2k sports MLB Game. So do I hate 2k because of it, NO....will I continue to buy their games, Yes. Will I play MLB when I get a new system, Yes...so, dont step to me like

1. Im some git who doesn't have a clue and is looking for someone to blame.
2. Like I was totally flaming 2k Sports and the game. I personnaly think its the Best Baseball game ever made.

Get your facts in order before you post, making baseless accusations and innuendo.

i am in the same boat with you. went to put 2k7 into my 360 and it is done. have to send it down to texas as well, so it will be a while. mine started though with other games so i don't think it is just the game. my 360 just finally kicked the bucket when i put 2k7 in.

I have a hard time believing it's the 2k7 update that killed your 360. Not saying you're lying, of course, I just think you have the wrong source of the issue. Everyone else had to download the update too and I haven't seen anyone else saying that's what killed it. Also, you said you had 3 360s die before. While I'm sure you're taking good care of it, doesn't it seem like having FOUR 360s die is a little bit too much of a coincidence? Maybe you have it in a poorly ventilated area that contains the heat - I don't know what the reason is. Just saying, the fact that the update hurt no one else PLUS the fact that you have 360s die all the time makes me think that the 2k7 update is probably not what's at fault here.

I have had my 360 for 15 months, same system, never any problems except the occaisional freeze. I put in 2k, updated as required, and played the game fine for about 6 hours. Then there was like a weird whirling audio from the game and it froze. I turned off my system, took a quick shower, and when i went to turn my system back on i got those three wonderful lights. Is there anyone else who's system has bricked with this game, I'm really curious if it there actually is something with the game causing this.

I could understand having 1 360 die, but if you've had 3 die, don't you think that sounds a little suspicious? All the problems with the launch units have theoretically been resolved and those were the ones with most of the bricking problems. There's either some environmental factor (too much dust, not enough ventilation) or you are just one of the unluckiest guys around this board.

LMAO "FREEZEBOX" is a piece of garbage mine didnt even last a year. Got min at best buy at the end of Feb' 06 and got five red lights last week. And no it wasnt a launch system so i dont want to hear all those bs excuses. I have the PS3 no freezing and its virtually silent, so hate if u want to but the bottom line 360 is just a s hitty system.

LOL, get your facts bro. Your proof some people shouldn't breed. It is impossible for a game to cause a system to die. It means the 360 was poorly ventilated, poorly made, or you have crap luck. A game cannot cause hardware failure, if a game is taxing a system and the system dies, it is a system that wasn't made well, not the game. Give me a break.

I think there is a problem when updating games. The only 2 times my 360 has acted weird was right after an update.I would recommend that if you have just turned your sytem on and the game asks you to update, decline it until later when your 360 has been on for a bit.

My system bricked the night BEFORE 2k7 was released. Three red lights = yay. I was soooo f'n ****ed, especially since I had this game reserved since December, and was the only game I've been looking forward to. So, I called Microsoft to find out that they wanted me to spend $140 plus shipping to fix my console. I explained that this was my 2nd box, I've only had it since June, and I read that they were extending warranties for one full year. The guy told me that if I would have called a few weeks ago, it would have been free, but MS stopped doing that. Basically, I either had to make a choice between MLB2k7 and a working XBOX360. I then decided to do a little research on actually fixing the thing. I downloaded this video, and watched how to take it apart. Then watched another one on how to actually fix it, once it was taken apart. I called my neighbor to help me, and with a couple tools out of his garage (T8 and T10 Torx Driver), and a couple out of mine (2 setting Heat Gun, Awl) we were back in business. It took about an hour and a half to complete, and it's been working good so far. (about 8 hrs. of play incl. online) Apparently, from what I've read, MS uses cheap solder, and no matter how many xbox's they send from this first generation of 360's this will be a constant issue. Don't know how true it is, but at least my box works, and I can play 2k7. If anyone needs the video's, I'll be more than happy to help.

Fanboy...keep enjoying the 1 or 2 half *** games on that dying system. The ps3 is on it's way out the door laddy, it'll take some time but the system is truly destined for failure.

I'll continue playing GREAT games on a system that designers/programmers love to work with and not be worried of a crash, "which never happened for me by the way" as MS has an excellent customer support system that will back up there product properly.

Long story short...sell that POS for the price of a 360 and take the loss, you know your going to end up with a 360 anyways soon..

LOL, what a fanboy post. The PS3 will be fine bro, a lot of good exclusives are coming out for it. The 360 is good to, I love mine, but lets be real. The 360, for a systen being out for 15 months, doesn't have many great games to play. Like the Xbox, it is almost all shooters and sports games.

I'm on my third 360, keep waiting for this one to die as well. Every time they send me replacement unit that has an older production date, instead of actually fixing the problem. I've considered selling it and buying a PS3, Microsoft has really lost my respect with this.

However, I doubt the MLB 2K7 Update is what killed it.

Are you kidding me this statement is crazy!!! the PS3 has more than blown the 360 out of the water it has taken gaming to a whole new level that MS couldnt bring to the game.I have read this post and have 3 diff ppl say they dont have there original 360 due to crashes and you say PS3 was designed to fail??? Do you research the reason PS3 was smart enuff to wait to launch its system was so they got it right the first time and watched and seen problems 360 had. People nation wide are selling there 360's to get there hands on this machine and you should too MS should stick to computers and leave the gaming to the specialist Sony who continue to find more and more ways to step up the gaming levels.

Dude are you serious. By the time PlayStation 3 catches up we will be on a whole new system. PlayStation 3 better be worried about how to keep up with the Wii.....And there has already been plenty of PS3's that have been sent back for repair.

I've had my X360 for a little over a year now....had the occasional freeze, disk read error, etc.

The day before MLB 2k7 came in, I started it up, screen was all garbled with artifacts and wouldn't do more than the initial boot sequence....after a few boot tries, I had three red lights :(

Top left and the two bottom ones....looked it up online and MS had no solution other than to call them. I have no warranty, so I was left to my own devices for now.

Well, I started fiddling around and nothing was working, but then I popped the HDD out of the system and it magically booted again, so I figured I had a dead HDD. Games kinda sucked without a HDD or memory card so I put the HDD back in again...

AND IT WORKED, haven't had so much as a freeze or DRE since and I've been playing ~6 hours a day on MLB2k7 for the past few days :D

Anyway, moral of the story is to try booting w/o the HDD installed to try to fix it :)

I dont know about the whole update issue killing the game system but i can tell you mine died on Monday, 3 beautiful red lights, while playing 2k7. So maybe it's not the update or the system but how the program causes the unit to run...higher speed at longer intervals maybe...either way, i'm without the system til it comes home. I've had my 360 since mid dec 06...not a very long time for a system to break down.
