Help with Batting!!

Hey guys,
When using the swing stick, what is the left analog stick used for? Meaning, once I choose a location for my batters eye, and the pitcher starts his windup, should the left stick be used for anything else?

I'm kind of lost on that one too! I think with 2K6 the left was used to aim but with 2K7, you only need to aim left or right on the Right Stick during your swing.

As far as I can tell.. and I suck at hitting but after you lock in your batter's eye the left stick then aims which area in the strike zone your bat will swing in.. Please let me know if I'm wrong.. I'm sure there are more qualified people on these boards that would know!

it really does nothing you can get by hitting just leaving it still
