All qualifiers will be split up into smaller groups of 16 players who will compete against each other in their own “mini-tournament”. Qualification rank and geographical location will be used to assign players to each “mini-tournament”. Qualifiers will be notified of their “mini-tournament” assignments by email as soon as they are assigned. All “mini-tournament” assignments will be created and communicated to each qualifier no later than March 13, 2007. The “mini-tournaments” will be conducted under the supervision of an Administrator whose decisions are final.

After the “mini-tournaments” have been established, and the real-life NCAA team selections have been made, the Draft begins. Players will receive an email notifying them that they can now login and make their team selection preferences. The Players will be given 48 hours to setup their NCAA team preferences. This process allows each player to rank the NCAA teams that have made it to the real-life NCAA Tournament from most-preferred to least-preferred.

At the conclusion of the allotted 48 hours, the AutoDraft will commence. In order of qualification rank, each player will draft 4 NCAA teams that he/she competes with in the first round of their respective Mini-Tournament. (The highest qualified player picks first in round 1, and last in round 2, first in round 3, and last in round 4.) Each player will receive one team from each region of the real-life NCAA tournament bracket. The virtual mini-tournament match-ups will mirror the match-ups from the real-life NCAA tournament bracket. (For example, if Duke and Wake Forest play each other in the real-life NCAA tournament, the players who have chosen those teams will compete in the first round of the virtual mini-tournament as well.)

Once all Round 1 games are complete in the mini-tournament, and the real-life NCAA tournament games are complete, the AutoDraft engine will once again reassign teams based on player draft preferences, qualification rank, and which NCAA teams are still alive in the real-life tournament. Players are allowed to change their draft preferences throughout the course of the tournament. This process repeats itself in each round until there is only one player remaining in each region.
(See rules 9 and 10 for game play instructions and scheduling for the Tournament.)

Players will advance in the Tournament as long as they continue to win. Players who have lost four times (once in each region) will be eliminated from further play. At the conclusion of the Tournament one Xbox player and three Xbox 360 players will be selected to compete in the Final Competition based on the following criteria. (1) highest score in regional brackets (highest possible score: 4); (2) total games won during the Tournament (highest possible score: 16). Under this formula ties are likely. Accordingly, in the event of ties, the player with the highest seed from Qualifying Rounds will advance to the Final Competition.
