There seems to be some confusion with the tournament structure. This thread is meant to clarify some issues and give you a place to post your concerns.
Foremost, the point of the tournament is to accumulate as many points as possible to win a trip to the Final Four and the chance to compete for a new Pontiac car. Please refer to the official rules: "At the conclusion of the Tournament one Xbox player and three Xbox 360 players will be selected to compete in the Final Competition based on the following criteria. (1) highest score in regional brackets (highest possible score: 4); (2) total games won during the Tournament (highest possible score: 16). Under this formula ties are likely. Accordingly, in the event of ties, the player with the highest seed from Qualifying Rounds will advance to the Final Competition."
However, even if you lose in three of your regions, you still have the chance to win a free 2k Sports game of choice. The winner of each individual bracket will receive this prize.
The autodraft will happen after every round. If you were Florida in the first round, you will not necessarily be Florida in round 2 (even if you win your game) unless you get them during the next autodraft. Players will have the opportunity to rank new teams after the completion of every round.
In round 1, the #1 seed will play the #16 seed in all four regions. Therefore, the #16 seed automatically is assigned the opponent of the team the #1 seed drafted in the first round. However, the #16 seed also gets to draft a team later and then the #1 team will be assigned the opponent. Generally, this system ensures that team selection is fair and not one person has stacked teams.
So what happens in round 2? In round 1, you have four teams, one team in each region of the actual NCAA bracket. However, if you win three games and lose one, you will not be assigned a team in the next round in the region you lost your game in.
Also, please note that the winner of the #1 vs. #16 matchup will play the winner of the #8 vs. #9 matchup. In round 2, you may have two games against the #8 seed and two games against the #9 seed.
Good luck in your first round games!
