Are your buttons the same as they say they are in the book. My triggers are reversed

Can you tell me how to dunk? I pressed R2 and then the right directional (UP, RIGHT, DOWN, etc...) and no luck. Everything is a layup. I wonder if it is supposed to be L2?

R1 is the aggressive modifier for me. I have had no problem dunking.

Does anybody know how to throw an alley-oop?
