View Full Version : My guess, 2k8 release will be in June!!!

I believe APF 2k8 is just about done. The 2ksports team is just waiting for the NFL Draft to see where players are going to be drafted. They might already have the player models or body scaling done for the new rookies. Releasing the same time as Madden'08 in August would be a disaster. And releasing around the same time as NCAA'08 on 7/14 would also be diffulcult. A release in June would give 2k a chance to be the first to introduce the new groundbreaking Euphoria based tackling system, spread word before NCAA and Madden are released, and allow people plenty of time to create leagues, make rosters, and complain instead of being greatful. It's the only logical release date.

they dont have the license for the NFL....why would they be waiting for that??

I think he is only making assumptions based off of no knowledge. The liscense wont end any time soon. The NFL is enjoying the money that the Madden Franchise grants them. It's the NFL's fault that there was a liscensing issue as they brought it up. As well do you know for sure they are using Euphoria? Dont claim it as a fact enless you know it for sure.

Who's worried about the NFL liscense? Its already been stated that this won't be a Blitz type of game. So if a 6'5 260lb quarterback gets drafted first in the NFL draft there is a good chance that a team in Oakland in APF 2k8 might just happen to have a similar size quarterback. A Cleveland based team in APF 2k8 might have a dazzling running back with number 28. We won't know where players will be until the draft. You guys have your panties in a bunch. All of these theories are worthless. Just something to do until we get real information. "Don't claim euphoria unless you know for sure". Calm down Chicagopax.

What you're saying here about 2K waiting on the draft does make a lot of sense, actually. Of course, we'd be assuming that 2K is concerned with doing anything that parallel's the NFL.

I agree that releasing the game around the same time as any of EA's football titles would be a disaster. It would get swallowed up by EA's hype machine. It's a shame, but it's true.

Well he isn't saying it as a hope he is claiming it as a fact. I dont get any hopes for any games just because there is hype. Hyped up games usually dont pan out and honestly I dont know what to expect from this game. I am not going to claim this game is going to be the best football game out. All I hope is that it plays a good game, EA's games for the 360 this year have been sad and if 2k's games concentrate on graphics were screwed. EA delievered great graphics but crappy gameplay, it was a game you didn't want to play. I hate when people start claiming a game that has only had the name leaked out to be a great game when we dont know how it is going to turn out. It is going to be tough to make a great realistic game and only people that actully play the sport or extreme fans of it would be able to tell you if it is truely realistic. The year 2k5 came out it was very unrealistic as was Madden. It's good to hope, but dont pass it off as fact.

No football video game is totally realistic. If it were, it wouldn't be fun since you'd be messing around with all of the minor details and intricacies of the game, and it would be pretty boring for most people.

These games still have to be simple enough for most people to pick up and play. 2K's learning curve is deeper than Madden's, but both games can be learned without having to have played in the NFL.

Ok you seem passionate about fb gamin and I feel you on that.At this point in the game all we got is the little info 2k let out.I'm just as anxious as you are. That said, if apf mimicks the nfl,2k would have to first see what teams the rooks get drafted to.I think thats what ole boy was talkin about. But I dont think its cool to try and check people on internet forums over video games.. my .02

they are going to have legends in the game...why will they be waiting for the draft?...You people like to start pointless threads about nothing...Do u think anybody would buy a 'fake' nfl game?...2k is smart enough to not have their game labelled that way...They are going to stay as far away from the nfl as possible...If u want the nfl so badily go play madden...All this talk of fully customizing the game to look like the nfl is asinine...Less than 10% of the people who buy APF will care about this feature...

Well, I don't think it's an unrealistic scenario. It wouldn't be far-fetched to assume that 2K could mold the game after the NFL. I'm not saying I want that, or you want it, but they may do it. It's not as if this hasn't been done before.

Legends being in the game wouldn't stop them from it. The Legends would just be mixed in.

Either way, it'll still get labeled as a fake NFL game by all the idiots out there. It's inevitable.

I'll throw my 2 cents in. I think that the game will come out earlier than anticipated. For whatever reasons, 2k is being extremely hush hush with this title. I wouldnt be surprised either if it was near completion.

Expect the unexpected

PS...talking about nerds....everyone here is pretty much a nerd or a closet nerd...we all argue on a video game forum. So yes, indeed everyone on this is a nerd

I thought the Neptunes made nerds cool?

Even so, I still disagree, lol.

Releasing info has nothing to do with the Draft. The game will be release later this year regarless of draft or not. The problem here is why wait so long to show pics or ideas of the game. Lets get some more info 2K!!!

I agree with you.

I don't think 2K is keeping hush hush and their fans in suspense for no reason and very well might have something up their sleeves.

About euphoria, i don't know if thats the same as the natural motion technology.

I beleive the the game will come out in june or july (i hope its june so people can play it 2 months before madden) so when madden does come out we know people are gonna be comparing both games like crazy.
