If they've got a REAL next gen 2K football game for us, then they're going to want to keep things hidden from EA as long as possible.
I say make us suffer. Don't show or tell us a thing.
Believe me, I'm as eager to know more as the next guy, and I'm dying for vengeance against EA for what they did to the 2K football series. But whatever Take Two needs to do to challenge Madden, I'm for it.
Regarding the rosters: I would rather they give me a whole new football universe over using a couple of NFL oldtimers in an NFL look-alike league.
Give me a new football world and give me total customize -ability and I'll be happy as Madden with a plateful of turducken.

...I'd like to reply to my own thread.
Regarding the rosters I think it would be awesome if they gave us a game with 2 built-in football leagues.
1) The FFL (Freedom Football League):
- teams looks alot like the NFL teams, with rosters that have startling similarity to NFL rosters, and play in stadiums that look a heck of a lot like the NFL stadiums in which they play. But they're not. With total customization we can change all the team names, roster names, uniforms and whatever else to the NFL teams of our choice not that Take Two would in any way be supporting that.
2) The UFL (The Universal Football League):
- a whole new football universe where the programmers can use their imaginations to create teams, players, stadiums and a league that will capture the gamers imaginations. This will not alter the 2K philosophy of having the most sim football video game out there. It will enhance the ultra sim game play by adding an element of fantasy and imagination to the environment.

I think the secretive nature is understandable BUT I don't think it would be too much to ask for Team Names or something. It isn't like EA would use them...unless of course 2K is going to publish a game that ignores the property rights completely....That would be hilarious.

"Keep it secret. Keep it safe."
So if we play this game we turn invisible and our appearance starts to change?

Guys, just remember that MLB 07: The Show for PS3 comes out in less than 30 days, and they have only been given 7 screenshots and key features. They're not trying to surprise anyone as much as 2K will have to with APF 2K8, and they're not getting anything. Be fortunate, and be patient.

Everybody just needs to be patient and wait, the info and screenshots are coming soon enough

I agree with the secret to a point. 2k could start releasing videos of the game now, because its to late for EA to redue their hole graghics engine. However with the videos each one could start with, "Its back" and then say something like "The best game tackles in sports games history" or "The complete D line change" or "The real football presentation" and then have the video show of those aspects on the new systems. In the meantime not giving EA any thing new except the graghics. Now when thier a month out, then change the video to "ITS BACK" Now with "(something thats new in the game)" and show off a that new feature.
Ill say one more time, I agree that they should keep the new things secret untill the last month to two weeks.
