Why would they make a "Pro" football game if they can't use any of the pro player's names or teams. Sounds like a big waste of money to make or buy a pro football game if it is made of names and stuff. I'm not even going to give this game a look.

"They"meaning 2ksports can not use the Nfl logo or teams ,players etc..So pro Football is what it will be..Real football without the names.Im guessing you dont care about game play or something new, instaed you want NAMES,well thank god for you,That there is Madden!..You can get all the NAMES you could ever ask for, logo's,NFL teams and all the Rest..Umm..But Gameplay and something new..Well thats a Different Story.Have a Great day.:)

What? surely if they write a history and make the players have character it doesn't matter if they are real or not.

this game is supposed to have legendary or all pro ex NFL players who are no longer under the NFL license, me thinks. irregardless of who the players actually are, the gameplay and features will be better than the standard blah offering Madden gives to next gen gamers. feel free to stick with Madden and the names of players you know, but you'll be missing out on the better game!

The "Pro" in All Pro Football 2K8 will represent true simulation football with gameplay, A.I. and presentation that we see in the NFL today which of course isn't seen in madden (the so called sports leader in football gaming.....yea right), it's shame that a unlicensed football game will be slapping an nfl licensed game like a red headed step child this summer.

bigdvines23 have u ever played a 2k football game? i doubt it because if u did u would be happy that they are makin a football game. if EA did their job and made madden a good football simulation there would be no reason for 2k to make a nameless football game. but since EA doesnt know how a football game is suppose to look or play 2k will show them.
if u worried about not having names then wait for madden 08 to come out and then buy madden 07...itll be the same game only cheaper.

Yeah it seems like you have never played a 2k Football game because if you have you would know they make great football games..Most people think just because they aren't going to have real NFL players the game is gonna suck..but to most of us its not about that its about gameplay man..and if you aint buying the game why the hell do you even bother posting?

You hit the nail on the head. Character is exactly what this game needs to be great. Like you said, the players should have a history. Not just the first season players either. Have histories on every player that comes into the league throughout the years. They also need to be creative with the logos as well, not just 50 or so goofy clip-artsy ones. Get elaborate as hell. Anyway, no this game won't be stupid. What is stupid is buying Madden every year, believing that they'll really make it good this time.

What's crazy is that even with sole ownership of the nfl liscense and espn they have'nt really did anything with it. They can't even give us all the jersey combinations and get the fields right

The PRO helps to identify what type of game this will be.
- Street
- Flag
- Arena
- College
- PRO
See?
The type of games to determine rules and style of the game.
The only difference will be they do not have the license to create names with likeness, and logos, stadiums, etc...
Most players haven't seen the true stadium of all the teams so it really only makes a difference when it comes to your favorite team.
The names are just that. You will have your Steven Alexander runners, Peyton QBs, Marvin Harris WR, etc...
They will just have a different name, team name, team logo, etc...
If you really enjoy being more than a spectator of the sport you may want to give this game a second look.

Then I would also assume you wouldn't waste your precious time on the message boards of the company making 'said game'.
Good riddance. Hope you enjoy your Madden 06...oops, sorry...07:rotfl:

You have too be a complete moron to think that this game won't do well GOD this really ****es me off  that he could even come in here and make that statement 2k sports just dosen't put out a football game and hope it does well, they know it will. 2ksports always made way better football games than madden, madden is god awful to play online and offline it's boring empty and just glitchie if madden was missing the nfl players, logos and stadiums they would'nt sell too many games. Hey buddy once the nfl see's 2k sports football game they won't show it, but they'll wish they could break their contract with EA fast quote me on that one.

Just because this game won't have real football players you won't try it? A developer doesn't need the NFL license to make a good football game. Look at Blitz: The League it didn't have the NFL license and it managed to become a platinum hit on the original Xbox. Another plus for not having the license is that 2K is allowed to put features that wouldn't be allowed if they were under the NFL license such as the more realistic looking injuries 2K is planning to put in AP Football 2K8. Under the NFL license the NFL will probably not allow them to put that. At least we have another choice in the football video gaming market and that is better than being forced to buy Madden just to play a football game. Choices and competition make both developers to work harder and in the end the we the customers win.

they have nerds making Madden, none of them even watch football. 2K at least has football people working on their game.

Finally, the loyal, smart, patient, competent 2k fans are finally starting to come out of the woodwork and defend our brand. This whole thread has had A LOT of very competent posts. From very competent posters. Its like the generals of 2k fans are finally starting to keep the ranks in check. I thought i was just a lonely lieutenant trying to gather scattered troops. But peace is here. Good to hear some loyalty, unlike the moron that started this thread. I liked the point about Blitz: The League. It did pretty well for itself. So props to Midway.
This game will kick ***. What would happen to madden if it didnt have the NFL license? Do you guys realize how crappy of a football game it would be? Im sure some of you have thought of that though. Im sure some of you dream about the day that madden loses its exclusive deal. What would the madden fans do if all they had for an NFL game was 2k, because the tables were turned. Would they stay loyal to thier crap, or would they say something like " Oh, ive always liked 2k football." and try to play it off like they were loyal to 2k the whole time. Such sweet revenge that would be for 2k to have the baseball and football licenses. lol ;)

Why would you make this thread if you can't use simple logic and common sense? Sounds like a big waste of our time to read or merit such a thread if it is contructed of ignorance and blantant stupidity. I'm not even going to give this thread another look.

I want to say I am sorry for calling everyone ***. I never meant to criticize 2K football and its gameplay. I was just posting my own opinion. I did not think it would cause this much trouble. I hope this game is amazing even though it will not have NFL names and players. Sorry again.
