Whats more interesting is it could give us a look into what 2k are aiming for with this:

- Thorough knowledge of the NFL including history, players, coaches, rules, and regulations.

Could this mean they are going for a generic 32 team league with city names?

It seems like they're going for that kind of game.

good find. That tells me that they are really set on doing good presentation.

The one thing I question is the game testing of the commentary.
You really should have seperate testing of this because most people won't be as critical of their own commentary or won't provide the proper parameters or scope for the test needed.

Similar to an example I gave:
The game is in overtime and you go in for the score.
The first commentary was about the score as if it was any other score in the game.
It didn't provide the realistic commentary of the winning score.

The same goes for game comebacks or late drives with seconds left on the clock.
The "it ain't over until it reads 00" was tiring expecially when you are up by 21 points with under a minute to go in the game and the opposing team hasn't been doing anything.

The commentary needs to reflect how the teams are performing and if one team suddenly begins to play well then state why. Rushing attack, Aerial attack, Turnovers, etc...

A writer is okay, but if they don't plug in the case scenarios then it won't matter.
I think UML or CRC would work wonders in this area.

Are we even sure this is for this particular game? Isn't it a little late in the game to be just trying to hire a football dialogue writer? From the looks of it this could be for other games as well, and could gearing up for future football games when 2k has the NFL liscense again.
