does anybody have any tips on stealing, i find my self getting thrown out ALL the time with Crisp and Lugo on the Red Sox.

do u use the baserunner cam?

also, how do u do different slides, i want to dive head first, but they always do feet first slides.

thx

even when i have a good 3 step lead my guy gets gunned. so, what's better, baseburner or just using x and the L stick to steal?

try using my sliders in my signature. I have stolen 22 bases so far with jose reyes in my franchise.

i think its best to take your lead in baseburner mode and then steal by using x and up. this is because sometimes if you're taking a lead with the l trigger and you hit l as they make a pickoff move your guy will run to second like an r tard. at least that's what i've found so far.

First check your sliders.

Here are some tips:
1) Check the arm strength and accuracy of the opposing catcher. Check the same as well as pickoff for opposing pitcher.
2) NEVER steal on the first pitch
3) Always get at least 2 steps off the bag.
4) I find it easier in batter mode and just pressing the steal button and up/left to steal second.
5) Slide head first by pressing UP on the analog stick.

The analog way works alot better than baseburner because the guy moves on the pitchers 1st move but you might get addicted that way I did and I had to start my chise over because I'm a sim guy, I had Carl Crawford at the end of April with 30 SBs.

i find it impossible to use the baseburner cam, u cant tell at all when the pitcher is coming over to first, theres no actual sense of the game, he just wheels and fires and by the time u can process whats going on ur out. I get thrown out easily everytime i steal by some of the worst arms in the game too??????

Consider too the pitch count when choosing to steal. If you run on a 2-0 count, chances are the pitch will be a fastball, same with 3-0. stealing on the first pitch, with most pitchers, it's harder because it will be on a fastball. I find a 0-1 or 1-0 count good to run on usually because the chances of an offspeed pitch seem to be greater, though sometimes this comes down to the pitcher your facing and his repertoire.

Another thing that comes into play is the amount of time the pitcher's delivery takes and the speed of his pitches. Stealing on a guy like Wakefield is easy because you know he's going to most likely float a 65 mph knuckleball in there, or then there's Chien-Ming Wang with just a notoriously slow delivery. Then you have guys like Derek Turnbow (MIL) who have a very fast delivery and throw low to mid 90's fastballs, which definitely makes it harder to steal on.

i think the best way to steal on anyone is to make sure you got a pretty quick guy like 85 speed or more maybe 80 and get a 2 or 3 step lead depending on if the other player is paying atection to you and then hit X and up likeright befor he pitches beasce that way it gives you a better jump and when slideing into the bast i found the flicking the right anologe stick up it gives u headfirst slide that works the best

I have the same problems. Sometime with 4-5 step leads.............
