The Xbox plays much better defense than I could ever think of doing. There is to many robbed home runs, to many diving catches, too many dives and throws from knees, too many Willy Mays catches in the outfield. How can I make it stop!

Another thing you can do besides playing with the sliders (which does help), is to edit the players, which is something you must do BEFORE you start a season mode. It does take time and it's pretty boring, but you can actually edit each and every player and move their sliders down, such as fielding awareness, move that down and you can make the A1 players worse fielders. I did this before I started my season, I went through and edited each and every player of significance that I'd be playing against - especially the fielding part of the sliders. It does work. You can make their arms weaker too.......
