Yo guys, i've updated my thread again with "Hornets condemn Bears to Third Straight Defeat - College Gameday 13".

Conference play is just getting going and things should be getting pretty interesting as the Bears try to win the MEAC and get to the dance. Recruiting is hotting up aswell, i'm hot on the tails of two 3* prospects but each one is close with another school and could go either way. Hear we go Bears, Here we Go.

Yo Guys, i've just updated my Legacy with the below article and a few more games. Its going well so far. Only 1-3 in conference but 7-7 overall.

Baltimore Sun - Smith Commited to a Winning Mentality.

Trent Walliams of the Baltimore Sun recently had chance to speak to Coach Spencer Smith of the Morgan State Bears. Here's what was said.

Trent: - "How have you settled in to Morgan State Basketball?"
Spencer: - "Its been really easy to settle in, the staff have all been helpful. We brought in two new coaches in Collins Walters and Irving Ramos aswell so its been a learning process for all of us. Floyd (Kerr, University Athletic Director) has done everything he could to help us settle."

Trent: - "How do you feel the season has gone so far?"
Spencer: - "The season has gone quite well so far I think. We are talking about a team here who went 4-26 overall last year and 4-14 in conference play. Currently we have slipped up abit in conference play but at 7-7 overall we've already won more games than last year."

Trent: - "So, is this season about improvement?"
Spencer: - "Indeed. Not just this year, but every year from now on. There is a good infrastructure in place at this school, one that is capable of carrying a team to a dominant position in this conference. We need to get the winning mentality out there and convince some top guys to come and play their basketball here. We need to show them as coaches that we will make them better players. Maybe the improvement we've shown already this year is the start of getting that message across."

Trent: - "Whats been the high point so far?"
Spencer: - "Well getting a job coaching in the states ranks pretty highly!, but without a doubt the win over Marquette is the high point. They are a team with great talent and it shows in their ranking. We played superbly and fully deserved to win. Hopefully there will be many more big name scalps to come!!"

Trent: - "What about the low point?"
Spencer: - "That would have to be the current 3 game losing streak were on. If we could have turned one or two of those into wins we'd be talking about a team way above .500 at the moment. The players have fought hard during the slump though and i'm convinced we'll break out of it soon."

Trent: - "Hows your first year on the recruiting trail going?"
Spencer: - "Its going well I think, although we'll have to wait and see who commits to our program before we can truly say its gone well. At the Moment we look in a strong position with Jibrian (Thomas, a 3* Point Guard) and it looks like Ramon (Radakovic, 6'10 3* C) is split 50/50 between us and Davidson. Should they both sign we will have a high quality incoming recruiting class. If they don't, then we have other Irons in the fire so to speak, We've met with Kim Domercant (3* PF) and Joonas Barnhill (2* SF) and both are considering our program. Its been a very enjoyable process though, and I feel this school has a great deal to offer."

Trent: - "What can we expect to see from you in the future?"
Spencer: - "Well, this program hasn’t won a Mid-Eastern Conference championship in 30 years, and our goal is to put this right. We'll do this by commiting 100% to this program and improving all areas. We'll improve facilities for prospects and make sure that the academic support is here and hopefully encourage a winning mentality within the program."

Trent: - "Thanks Spencer"

Spencer: - "Its a pleasure."
