I'm not really sure either way. I mean, i'm sure it will be a great game. I just don't see the lasting appeal without a franchise mode. I'm sure i'm not the only one who feels this way..

*EDIT* I really do think the game will have great gameplay... and after looking at that list of legends WOW... but, like I said, where's a real lasting appeal..

well now this can be a new thread so people can post there feelings about the new info. prince i know how u feel. right now im excited to draft a team and play as those legends but u can only use them for so long, with some many different combinations before u get bored. i wish it started off just drafting legends then after the first season its like a regular franchise where u draft rookies and try to turn them into legends.

I'm reserving judgment until I know more about the game. A lot of us - including me - are worried about a lack of Franchise mode, but it's hard for us to imagine anything different since we've become so accustomed to playing season after season in a Franchise mode. If 2kSports can come up with something new and innovative that will hook people the way Franchise mode has done in the past, then I'm willing to give it a shot.

That being said, there is a reason why Franchise modes are so popular - they mirror real life scenarios where players can follow their teams and "play" with them. Breaking away from that model is a risk, but high risk could mean big rewards.

Let's all wait and see what news comes out in the next few weeks. I'm sure there will be some news out to go along with some of the hype of the draft (though it might be a good idea to stay away from the draft since none of the players being drafted can appear in 2K's game). Anyway...I'm excited to see the game back, and I'm optimistic that they've done some things that will create a fun game.

as long as they have a HUGE pool of legends and legends that i want like Dan Marino, i could care less about made-up rookies now.

I just want to be able to at least keep a drafted league the same way for season(tournament) after season, even if they dont consider it as YEARS. Put in a trade feature, keep track of stats, cool awards at end of season, and please have cool looking teams without silly cartoony logos (i dont want to see legends looking like their in the XFL)...and i'll be happy. i can forgive the no franchise travesty

why do people on this site have a problem with people having complaints. Prince said he knows the gameplay with be great but he doesnt know if there will be lasting appeal. meaning is he still going to want to play the game after playing a couple seasons with a different team. maybe ur not someone who usually plays a franchise mode. its hard to go from playing a franchise mode with one team, a draft after every season, and as many seasons u want. to go and play a game where u play one season with one team, and then u draft a new team if u wana play a new season. im sure it will be fun but after a couple seasons it might get boring having to draft a whole new team instead of sticking with just one team.
