Jason Campbell, 27 year-old basketball coach from New Bern, NC, was just announced head men's basketball coach at University of Northern Colorado. It pained Campbell to leave his home state of North Carolina, but it was worth it, starting his coaching career. The UNC (not carolina xD) athletic department hopes that Campbell can bring to it a sucessful season.

I will be coaching all games, with 15 minute halves.

The first thing you notice about this roster (when its in a nice looking table like I origally made) is that it's mostly juniors and seniors. 3 Srs, 4 Jrs, 0 So, 7 Fr. The freshmen need some work, because as you can see, the freshman are all at the bottom overall. Looks like its going to be an interesting season.

Yep first thing I saw was you need some young talent, but dont have any. Better be good at recruitin =D

Yea, it's nice to see that we're both doing a UNC one- if I need some help, expect a call haha. I think it's hilarious how our team has 0 sophomores and 7 freshman. Like chestnutz said, we better get good at recruiting. If you want any ideas for yours, just check mine out. Good luck man.

Midnight Madness
Gold: 82
Blue: 38

Coach Campbell could only watch in horror as his young Blue Team was squashed in the Intra-Squad Scrimmage. The older, more experienced Gold Team pounded them in almost every category. It was a good showing of how much better older talent the team had versus the younger talent. The star of tonight's game was Mats Samuels, who scored 19 points. Peter Bishop was right behind him with 16 points, 11 rebounds, and 2 steals. Bishops had this to say, "Well we were mostly juniors and seniors, and they were all but 2 freshman. I think, you know, Coach will do a good job teaching them. It just might take them a while to get used to the college basketball environment." The Blue Team had only two freshman, the Gold Team was all freshman, execpt juniors J. J. Bethel and Caleb Sloan.

Gold Team Stats:
- (33/55) 60 % FG
- (8/16) 50% 3PT
- (8/12 66.7% FT

- 39 REB (10 Off)
- 8 Steals

(7/14) 50% FG
(3/9) 55.5% 3PT

Peter Bishop:

2 Steals

Blue Team Stats:
- (16/49) 32.7% FG
- (5/22) 22.7% 3PT

- 17 Reb (2 Off)

JonPaul Akpan:

9 Reb (0 Off)

J. J. Bethel:
8 Points
(4/7) 57.1% FG

This game shows me I need to really look for some talent in recruiting in the next two years. This team really needs to work on shooting. The Blue team's performance in shooting was absolutely horrible. Ball handling is also something we need improvement in, but so do all the other small conference teams.

I'm horrible at recruiting. I'm usually lucky if I can get one 3-star per season. If we both continue our legacies to where all the current players graduate, it would be a nightmare to replace all those current-freshman.

I actually love recruiting haha. Sometimes I start a dynasty or legacy or whatever just to recruit, it's fun building a team up and trying to win a championship.

Northern Colorado @ Ball State

Ball State Cardinals: 75
Northern Colorado Bears: 51

Five Seconds after the winning the opening tip, Norhern Colorado's Rod Noel drops a pass, resulting in a 3 for Ball State. This set the tone for the rest of the game. The Ball State Cardinals were just storming through the Bears tonight. Only allowing 51 points to their 75. "Their shots were just bouncing out of the rim." said Ball State center Michel Kou, who lead the game in rebounds "It was like when Michael Jordan would miss a shot, it wouldn't be a brick, [it would]just go in and bounce back out." Coach Jason Campbell of the Bears hopes this won't foreshadow the rest of the season. "You know you always want to win that season opener." said Campbell in the post-game press conference "It gives you momentum to go out and win the next ones. What I fear the most is that half our team is new to this environment. If we start off with a bad record, they'll get discouraged. I know all of these kids are good shooters, but the man upstairs just didn't want the shots to go in. I'll be stressing shooting in practice until we can straighten up some." The Bears were just 22/64 (34.4%) from the field, while the Cardinals were 25/45 (55.6%)

November 13, 2006

Purdue Boilermakers: 59
Northern Colorado Bears: 56

It was a hard fought match tonight. The Purdue Boilermakers barely defeated the underdog, Northern Colorado. Purdue lead the way most of the first half, with the lead changing just a few times. However, the Bears never dropped below 8 points. In the second half, the lead changed many times, but the boilermakers were able to come on top. "I know we lost, but I'm really proud of these guys." said Coach Jason Campbell "They're definately improving, we still need to work on that field goal percentage, but they're without a doubt getting better. This is going to be a tough team come tournament time."

recruiting is a fun part of the game. It became much easier for me when I moved to TCU. When I recently found I had set up 2 teams when I first started my legacy, I was in for a humbling experience of sorts. I had done nothing with the 2nd team - they had no freshmen or sophmore players (I never recruited any). Luckily they had gotten a few transfers every year to keep them afloat. So now, I start over with them and trying to recruit. It's nice to rememeber what's it like to start over. Even simming their games this year, they are winning a remarkable number and are the best team in the Southern conference by far. But only 2 star recruits are looking my way (with 7 scholarships to offer). I hope to land a couple 3 stars and a couple 2 stars at least. I may sit on the remaining scholarships until next year (if I can carry them over), and see if a season of focusing on JR's will help them bring in a better crop next year.

for UNC, two tough losses to open the season. No worries though, the early losses can prove to be good learning experences. (my 2nd team only had 1 winning season in four, and he got a job offer - so don't worry about the future just yet)
