what is the most successful way of blocking the layup? especially the one where your opponent runs to around the corner of the court but not quite but then goes into the layup animation. kind of at a 30 degree angle from the basket.

when do you jump for the block? or if it is too hard to block how do you defend it? it seems like whoever is near the guy w/ the ball gets knocked over half the time which leaves me controlling my big guy standing at the basket and i dont know how to defend it well.

sometimes i try and take a charge, but it seems like even if i have pretty good position, sometimes i will just get pushed sideways, like my guy kind of slides or hovers away when the guy comes in for the layup.

sometimes i try and use the R analog and stick my hands straight up but they can just shoot the layup over me. is this the way to defend it and i just need to get better?

how are you guys defending this?
