Isn't it about time they unveiled some gameplay footage??

I am as big of a 2K5 fan as you will find, kills me that I cannot play it on my 360 due to it not being one of the "Backward Compatible" games (complete BS if you ask me, this should have been one of the titles they worked on for compatibility), but I digress... The anticipation of this game is killing me, I know I will be buying it the day it comes out, would love it to be less than 60 bucks, but if it isn't, such is life. However, the fact that no video, trailers or footage has been released is getting a bit absurd.

I want to be excited about this game, I want to think about the roster I might come up with, but I want to at least have an idea what it is going to look like!!

Please 2K, just release the footage you showed at the Press Conference, give us a little taste so we can even more excited!!

Ohh, and figure out how to get Bavaro and Hampton in the game!!

This is exacly how i feel. i want to like this game! i want to be thinking about getting my style of game play down, i want to start thinking about the differences between my lousy friends who will come over and try to play the run and shoot against me, i want to think about the ins and outs of this game! The only way I would want them to show this footage is if they put it in HD. It wasn't HD at that unveiling so I wouldn't want them to show something for people just to cry and complain about. But I do agree they gotta get the ball rolling here with either some screenshots or a video montage. It has to be this week or next week.

I agree about the footage deal, but I also understand why they are not releasing videos yet. Matbe the footage that was showed at the meeting wasn't 100% complete. If that is the case, then I wouldn't release footage either; that would be absurd. If the footage is complete, then yes I would like to see something. They don't have to release all the elemental funtions that Madden could steal, and I doubt at this point that Madden could steal graphic ideas.

Well, i told this lady that if she wanted to see me, she had to buy me a 360...After a few brief negotiations she has agreed...I actually went to get it last sunday but they were sold out...Some of you will either ridicule or call me out as a loser but i figure i should be getting something outside of the BS u deal with having a "girlfriend"...believe me, a $500 system is almost not worth it...ALMOST :)

That is my whole reason for wanting to see footage, I am assuming that they will release a brief trailer, then they will go into more details about the game, possibly even give a firm release date.

The problem is, the more anticipation I feel, the more I am expecting from the game, which sucks because with great expectations come great disappointments...

Either way, if 2K8 is simply 2K5 with "Legends" then I am cool with that, I don't need flashy graphics, I don't need new features that I won't want to use (like vision cone in Madden).

Either way, I feel like 2K could be shooting themselves in the foot by slowly releasing information, and I find it very hard to believe that they don't have at least a BETA build of the game, hell, even if the release date is august, by now they should be working out bugs, not creating anything new.....

I want my 2k8 and I want to know more about it NOW!!!! (stamping feet)

Yea man its starting to get pretty bad and its only because we have waited for sooo long. I hate that I can see a full trailer of MGS4 and that isnt coming out till god knows when. Yet there still hasn't been an official unveiling of the game and it releases in the summer. Seems like the hardcores are getting the shaft.

And plague I would date a fat and ugly chick for a day if she was willing to buy me an elite. =D

Nice game, but I'm no good at a sport I never played, liked or watch. :lol:
But it will be nice to have something I can lose in after killing visitors in football. :lol:

Im not as pessimistic as gameqb11, but I somewhat agree. For us not to have seen anything yet may indicate that the game is not as far along as we'd like. I hope they dont rush it out to beat Madden to the shelves at the expense of quality. I'd rather it be polished and have to wait a bit. I do, however, realize that would probably be a marketing disaster for VC. Let's keep our fingers crossed.

However, I've never known 2ksports to release information early anyway.
They may have had plans to release information, but all the criticizm they received from releasing a "dumb down" version of the game may have made them rethink it.

What has Madden released about its game, because I'm having a hard time finding anything. I went to their website, but all I see is their cover design. No game play or videos of the game.

I've seen the MOVIES here and there on a commerical, but it doesn't have anything to do with game play because it is just a MOVIE that is triggered AFTER game play.


Folks, remember 2k8 is not competing with Madden08.
So I don't see them with a reason to rush as you stated.

I think some more information will be released by the end of this month.

Man... some will complain and cry about the game no matter what.
3 months to go until the perceived delivery date.
Much of this desire comes from being excited and anxious about 2ksports putting out a football title again.

I'm keeping it all in perspective and just waiting.

if i remember correctly 2k always did reveal alot of info about their games before hand, even if certain things didnt pan out, i always remembered hearing alot about the nfl2ks way before they shipped, its why i bought a dreamcast

honestly, i dont expect much from them this go around. nba2k6 was ok, but 2k7 is near perfect. one thing 2k is known for is that they IMPROVE every year. so as long as theyre in it for the long haul, we will be getting great football games regardless of how this one comes out.

Ummm...2k put up some pix in the Game Informer, Madden showed some pix of Vince Young.
2k updated their site with faces of the leagues from the game, Madden put screenshots of the rookies.
Both do not have video footage out yet. It's just not time yet people, relax.

They're both projected to go on august 14. My bet is that 2k8 should go around july to gain an edge because with no NFL and with only ONE REAL advertising success that was nearly 3 years ago, they're gonna need it.
