I do know this game will not be an NFL game. But what concerns me, is the game of football going to be changed? It most certainly will not be football if we have 30 yard downs. I don't care about real players or teams, but I do care about an authentic representation of football, something 2k was great about in years past.

Are the rules of football going to be bent and broken in this game? I likely won't buy the game if it doesn't play by the rules of traditional american football. At the same time, I won't buy into the hype machine that is Madden either. Having no choice in football games sucks. But we really would have no choice for football, if the game forces us to learn new rules, because it just wouldn't be the football we all know and love.

I'd honestly rather have a league of fake players with franchise mode than the legends, but if it's at least an authentic representation of football, it should do well, and be worth my cash.

I'm sure the game will be authentic to the "normal" rules of American football. Whether it's Pop Warner, NCAA, or NFL (or even European NFL), the rules are essentially the same. I wouldn't expect anything strange in terms of rules and gameplay.

There will be no Franchise mode, but we're hoping for some other innovative gameplay mode to take its place.

The gameplay on the field and overall presentation will be the real competencies of this game. If you're not married to the NFL and the NFLPA, then I think 2KSports (judging from 2k5 and other 2kSports series) will put out a game with superior gameplay, graphics, and presentation to whatever EA Sports has to offer.

Unfortunately, we can't confirm any of this yet since there are no screenshots, no videos, no trailers, and no real hands-on reviews of the game yet. As more information comes out, we'll have a better idea of what to expect.
