Without the NFL license looming ;) over the heads of the producers of this game, they have some freedom to make some changes to the rules that the NFL may not make. What do you think they should do?

Keep it:
Strictly NFL? Strictly NCAA? NFL Europe? CFL? Something inbetween?

Would you make any changes to any of the following rules?

1) Over Time: 1st to score wins? Even possessions? Something different?
2) TD celebrations: Enjoy them or dispise them?
3) Instant Replay Challenges: Yes, No, how many?
4) Catch near sidelines: 1 Foot or 2?
5) Play Clock: 25 seconds, 40 seconds?
6) Kickoff from the: 30, 35, 40?
7) Defensive Pass Interference: Spot of the foul, based on severity of foul?
8) Illegal formations/shifts?
9) Roster Size?
10) Top Teams earn a 1st round bye in playoffs?

Anything else?

1) I don't like the current NFL OT system. I say give each team a possession from the 20 like collge does. Or some other variation that guarantees each team a chance to play both sides of the ball. Maybe each team starts their first possession at their own 20. If both teams score equally, it goes back 10 yards and does so each round until one team wins.

2) It's a sport that people go to see for entertainment. I say let them dance.

3) I like the current challenge system.

4) 2 Feet for a reception. Anyone can get one down.

5) 40 seconds is plenty of time, but 25's not enough if your not familiar with the playbook.

6) Kickoff from the 35. I'd like to see some Touchbacks, but more kickoff returns.

7) I think PI should be based on the severity of the foul. A team should not be awarded the ball at the GL because of some ticky tack foul on a ball that the WR had no chance to catch.

8) Tricky. I could go either way on this. I like the fact the fact that the offense has to be set to avoid some extreme trickery, but I kind of dig the WR hitting the Line at the same time the ball is snapped like in Arena Ball.

9) I can see reasons to go bigger and smaller. Iron man football?

10) With a 1 game playoff series, I think this is a must. Unless there are multiple game series, I think it has to stay this way.

How I'd do it:

1) No overtime in the regular season. Playoffs = 1 regular period, then one sudden death period, then a kicking contest (like Rugby)

2) Whatever, I like celebrations.

3) As it is in the NFL.

4) 1 foot.

5) 25 seconds.

6) 25 yard line.

7) Depend on severity, from 5 yards to spot of the foul.

8) More leway on motion, anywhere between 5 & 7 on LOS. (I'm a fan of the option, and having 6 backs would be interesting)

9) 35

10) Depends on the number of teams.

I'd also add less Roughing the Passer calls.
