Coach Faison-Raise of a Hall Of Fame Coach

We will start in the past for this one. Coach Faison Coached a small school called Campbell Univ he took a team who would fall into utter choas and made them champions not once not twice but four straight times now he left Cambpell to go to San Diego States.


Now the future.



As I finish my fourth season with the Cambpell Univ while in my office I got a phone it was from my dad tellin that he was so proud that I won again, but he felt sorrow in my voice while I was talking to him about but I knew he was going to ask me and he did i told him that I took the offer from San Diego State.Then he asked that question did you let your team know that you took the offer I said no but I was going to let them enjoy this moment because they earned it.But I willl tell them before someone else do.But I told him that I left the team in great heads with my asst coach Coach Shipp.


.....Later that week.

I had all my guys meet me in the locker before the end of the school year to let them know that I won't be coming back next year and where I will be coaching at next year.To see the look on their face hurt me more than anything because I recruited all the guys and these guys made me the coach I am right now but I thought I made them best choice ,be to my amazement they said they understood why I made the choice. So after that I flew to San Diego State to meet with A.D and meet the team,asst coaches and of course the Boosters god I hate those guys. So now it time to go on the trail now for fresh face .

Oh yeah! I been hitting the trail had for about two and a half weeks and like I said man this sucks but winnin championships is worth it. Well I have only 3 cholarships to give out for this year,I need a Center,Point Guard ,Small Forward to have a run for a fifth title for me and 1st one for San Deigo State.

........... Scheduling of Opponents.It like trying finish a crossword puzzle in the sunday paper sometimes you get it sometimes you don't. When I was coaching Campbell Univ. I tried to get a couple of Mid-Majors and one Power conference to come to our house but no they wouldn't come so we went to them of course.Then we would get beat like step-kids but it was a learning tool for us and you know it worked and we won 4 NCAA titles,but this year is going to but alot harder for me .The reason is cause I won 4 NCAA titles here at San Deigo State they expect the same but what if I can't do it here maybe I use up all my wishes but we will find out won't we. So I get on the horn and call around for non-conference foes first I called coach Shipp at Campbell talk to him abit and he said sure why.(Coaches note Campbell defending National Champion,ranked Third in nation and two All Americans) but we travel to there house on Nov 10.Next I called up my mentor Roy Williams of North Carolina and talked about us playing against each other up in the Dean Dome(named after the great Carolina Coach Dean Smith) after talking for a hour or say he agreed to play us on Nov.14 so the ball is rolling good until I called Bill Self at Kansas he like no because of your RPI and everything so the answer was no.You see he forget where he came from and it not like they are going to win it anyways this year right .So the next couple of weeks I 'm hitting the phones none stop till my non-conference schedule is finish.

i might follow. it would sound cool, but winning four championships leads to nothing more than diappointing years or more championships. i am glad that you won it, but seriously four times is a little unrealistic especially coming from a small school.

Maybe you need to bump up the difficuilt level or change some sliders around. Is the game even fun anymore after winning it four straight times?

Ten minutes till tip off and I am in the bathroom throwing everything I ate day thinking to meself whats the green stuff on the floor when I hear Jamal say "coach were ready when you are" me I was like I'm not ready like I did when I first started to coach here four years ago.So I gather myself up and headed towards our locker room, then suddenly I realize that I'm the vistor here in the gym I helped bulit four years ago.But right now I'm the head coach of the Aztecs and win are going to win.So when we worked out to the floor I was a little nervous new team ,same gym I can still see the banners of those 4 National Championship I won here,but right now I have a job to do that is to bust Campbell cherry tonight.I see coach Shipp in the distance and I wave and he wave back and that was it.The jump ball went up the has started.Hit ya'll with first half stats in a minute.

Ok the end of the first half the score is 34-40 Campbell is up and man they are hype as hell in this gym.we made a couple of bad passes and not block out for rebounds,good news the game is close leading scorers for me is SF Jeff Novack with 14 points 5 rebs 2 blks he is the only reason we are as close as we are ,also leading in ast is Fr PG Micheal Felton with 9 ast and with 6 points and Ward St Fort has 7 points 10 rebounds and 3 blk but the bad news is that we lost Matt Boozer for the year with a torn acl and that hurts alot for us right now so I have inserted Micheal Felton into the sg slot for now .This game is so intenesd I dont' know who is going to win.Later second half is about to start. hit you with end of game stats

What a wild and crazy game that was it went back and forth and it was a real barn burner.
Coming out of half time we where down by 6 with 15 mins left in the game so we went to work down low.We went straight at Campbell guns blazing from the start we went to Kevin Tino in the low post and he went to work drop step bam, boom hanging on the rim came back with a great steal from Micheal Felton on the he had Ward St. Fort on his left and Jeff Novack on his right with a three on two and he pulled up with a nba three and hit all net from down town.At time we where on a 15 to 4 run to be up 49-44 so then like I know coach Shipp and the camels would come right back at us hard and heavy Pg Tony Gleason hit us for 12 quick points and was killer he made plays like noone was guarding so I call time out.The score 49-56 they were up,told my team to play hard ,hustle and don't quit,the buzzer went of and we went to work.Well put it this way we was not going to lose to game we gave Campbell a heathly dose of Kevin and Ward all night with a little dash of Micheal and Tyler who came in with some help.But with 9 secs left score tied at 93 apiece soomething had to give when Jamal drove to the basket he was meet by All American Stan Bentley all 7'0 of him but Jamal won that battle with a silkly smoove tear drop at the freethrow line and got foul with a three point play so that meant Stan's foul put Jamal on the line for one. Jamal calmly sanked the freethrow then Coach Shipp called a time out and I was pretty sure what play he was going to run.So when Campbell inbounded the ball it went straight to Tony who was alone in the corner and then I thought how in the world did he get that open, So Tony turned and launched that sweet jumper of his like he did for me before to win alot of games,then the buzzer went off and he had missed the shot,I was like I knew we were going into overtime on that shot.I went over to shake Coach Shipps hand and said thank you for the game and wished him and the team well this season.Back in the locker room the team looked beat up because of the and it was a battle and was a great game. To come and beat the defending champs in their gym priceless.So while we head for the airport to go home I 'm already picturing what we need todo against #9 North Carolina. End of Game Stats

Four days till the UNC game.

Well back from North Carolina after playing a great game against the defending National Champs Campbell we are back home ready to begin work on how we are going to stop UNC running game. Before we do that I need to see how Matt Boozer is doing after the injury he sustain (Torn ACL) I went to the hospital to see him and he mother Matt was ok but was upset that he won't play for the rest of the but I told him we were going to medical redshirt him so he won't lose a year .He thanks atold me to play hard for him and I told him we will.

Two days till the UNC game

I got a phone call from a basketball coach in Houston TX. about a kid he has wants to come see after the UNC I told him ok and to send me some game film on him,then I ask him what the boy name is he told it Jimmy Lancer.The coach give me the details about Jimmy.Jimmy about 6'5 234 SF avg.about 29 ppg and 13 rebs.Well I told coach that I would to see him play.So when I got off the phone with coach it was off to the airport to go back to North Carolina.

The begining didn't start off the way I want it t Bobby hit a three in the corner cause he was wide open so that made the score 53 to 51 still we are up.We tried to get the ball in Kevin Tino hand but was stolen by Timmons and he went on the fast back with Bobby and Khaliq and guess what Timmons passed the ball to Bobby and Bobby went to shoot but saw Khaliq streak to the basket and threw a perfect lob to him and he threw it down like the rim said something about he mom and the crowd went nuts.I had to call a time out before things got ugly.Note there is 10mins left) So we are back on the floor Jamal and Jeff Novack was pick'n'rolling when Timmons stole the ball and all by himself he pulled to 360 duck and the crowd went nuts again and the game was 53 to 53. So we are in trouble the crowd is against us UNC is hype and ready to run but I tellmy team don't worry.Micheal dribbles the ball to the weak for a one on one with Timmons who has game high 6 stls I'm wonder what on god green earth is he doing but before I can finish that statement Micheal hits him with not one ,not two but three crossovers on his way to the hoop but UNC's PF Little Mcray who is a #1 draft pick in this year draft if you comes out step in Micheal ways but let me say this Micheal has a 47in vertical and yes I have seen a man fly Micheal took off and so did Little what I saw and what people at and in the gym saw will be a myth in 20 years Micheal keep going up over Little but Little still had his hand on the ball Micheal some how switched hands and threw it down with hatered in his heart with and and 1 to go with it are sideline explode this instants the ref some basket was good,even the Dean Dome were did you see that but the only thing I could think was yeah he'll be on sportcenter 30 times tonight with that one.So Micheal went to the line and it.Now the score is 56 to 53 so we are back in control and that last for well 5 seconds till Bobby hit us for another to tie the game up 56 to 56 man I wish this kid was sick today.So now we are down to the last 30 seconds of the game and they are up two and have them ball.So now Timmons has the ball in the backcourt and being guarded by Micheal,Micheal is harrassing Timmons all the way ,and then all of a sudden Micheal reaches for the ball and knocks it away and with 10 seconds left in the Micheal and Timmons are fighting for the ball Micheal picks up the ball and shoots with Timmons in his face the buzzer goes off and the ball banks in off the backboard and we win the game.Now this game will get your blood going what a freaking awesome game these kids played their hearts out on both sides But I happy that I won.75 t0 74

Well different coaches,different thought patterns.you know when the season is over and the preseason poll comes out.You get ranked based on your incomming freshmen class and returning players.So,if you whole starting five comes back you have a better chance of being rank in the top ten.I run a ten man team.using two teams to ensure i can press the whole game with out players getting to winded.I would just start the freshmen and bring the sr right off of the bench.But it is you team.
