It's a hard thing to get really high rated players in legacy because the good ones usually graduate.
I was wondering what kind of success you guys have had. I went from Grambling, to DePaul, then back to UIC (waiting for the UofI job to open) and my coach is an A overall. I also have won championships and I brought in a good recruiting class the first year at UIC (got two 5 stars somehow.)
Well, I just finished up with them. They somehow decided to stay for a 4th year, so I had a 95 overall team and my highest rated guy was also 95. Some small forward that was a great dunker, rebounder, defensive player. A 6'9 kid. I also had a 94 shooting guard.
Just wondering what you guys have come up with...
Oh, and also, please post what team you got this guy with. UCLA... DUKE, FLORIDA... etc. That's just unfair. lol.
Also, what's the highest rated guy you've had as a freshman? (At midnight madness day, not at the end of the season.)

At Southern Texas. I believe its that school haven't played in awhile since my friend won't give me my effin game back. Anyways i have a 90's across the board for my team rating. Best player to come through was a defensive SG 94 rating when he left and came in at 78. I've won i think 7 championships in 16 seasons.

Would have to be my current Xavier team. In my 2014-2015 season and my fourth year at Xavier (started at Texas Southern and then went to Iona). Right now my team is either a 94 or 95, but my 360 hardly works right now so i can't check. Never had a 90 overall player on my team, nor do i have one right now on my current team. However all my starters are above an 80, and four of my five bench people are above an 80 too i believe.
One weird thing about recruiting is that my freshman small foward was the best in the country and position is only rated an 82 overall. However last year i had a guy who was like 13 overall and 2 in position at PG. He was a better outside shooter was an 78 overall. I moved him to SG and he went up to an 83 overall. So he was the best recruit i've had so far. Weird that he is better than my #1/#1 guy this year, but ohh well i will take it.

Yeah, but what is the 83 overall's potential?
Dude 83 coming in is HUGE. These guys I had that were 95s started out as 78s... An 83 is like a one-and-done type player if his potential is decent.

went to the NBA his SR year(96 overall).I didn't recruit him he was a soph when i came in,but he was a 82 at that time.well i am use to getting All-americans alot of the time so my players come in highly rated.

I couldn't tell you what my best overall team rating has been, however I can tell you that the top 2 players I brought in were rated very very high as freshmen. I have my Career Legacy with the Illini and in back to back years I was able to snag the #1 overall recruit. The first guy was rated the highest I have ever had, coming in at 85 SG. The other was my point guard (Yeager) just a year after that, coming in at 84. They both left after soph years with ratings of 92 each I believe.

That sort of makes me wonder, and I had planned to ask this but forgot: All of you choop hardcore players... what do you think the ideal starting rating/potential is for a player to reach their highest without graduating?
I think a 5 star recruit with between a C and B- (those are what my two studs had) is the best... A+ potential is good, but they won't stay with you long. I'd prefer to have a solid player for 4 years. I just picked up another 5 star world recruit the year my two studs went into the draft. Dude is a soph now and he's an 84 overall... C potential. I think if he stays under 90 as a Jr, he will come back and break my record. However, my coach has an A+ teaching and he is an A+ overall, the only atts I don't have maxed are Offense with C+ and Scouting at B+, so my players, even the scrubs, grow pretty well.
I've got an A- four star who I redshirted who is creeping up. He's a soph now and he's a 78. It'll be interesting to see if he can overtake my 84 C potential 5 star.
Peace

You could always red shirt him for a season.

Too late.. lol
He only made 93, though.

Granted I've only done this one season so my best is a 66 center.

Wow, my team is like a 95 overall and it's just the beginning of the season.. still haven't gotten better than my 96 overall recruit, though, but I did snag a 7'1 center with A+ potential... the #1 in his class. That's the first A+ (if he turns out to be an actual A+) I've ever had. He might end up being 1ndone.
If he can stay to his Jr, though, I bet I can get him over 96.

I've had an 89 guy (I have him currently), a SF senior with my Maryland team. My best freshman was a 79 or something he was a PG, but his first year I started him at SG cause I already had a beast of a point guard. Right now he's a sophmore and he's like 84 or 85

I just got two sick Freshman that came in at 83 and 82 respectively... again, my team is 95 overall and the season has just begun. I've been ranked #1 coming in for the last 3 years and the 4th year I was #3... it's almost not fun anymore! lol, still, I wanna see if I can get my team to be 100 overall (played a team like that in the NCAA's) or get a player who is like 99 overall.

Illinois.
I just lost my #1, #1 big man, but I got this guy that I've been working on who turned out to be the #1, #1, too. So, he's up in it. He's 7'3!! lol. Still dunno how I'm gonna get my team up to 100... I've lost a lot. I'm at 92 overall now because I lost two guys to the draft (should have lost 3, but somehow my best player came back... lol. I guess cuz he was only a soph.)

Yeah if they aren't a big man then they will stay to atleast the jr yr. I had a pg rated 80. I red shirted him because i had two other pgs rated 84+. But anyways im in his sophmore year (actually third year since he was redshirted) and now he is rated 87. So i hope he stays. And if you draft a bigman with a- or more pot then they will prob leave early. At one time i had 4 players levae early on me my team went from 93 ovr to 84 i was pretty shocked.
By the way i play at UNC

That pg left junior yr at 91. Now i have this sf in his junior yr rated at 91 half way thru.
He came in at 82 ovr. If he stays another yr(which he probabl wont) i think he could reach about a 96 rating. The best team rating i've had now was a 95. I had 4 guys rated 87 or better and for midnight madness my bench players had overall rating of 80.

Ok, I'm going to set up a scenario and you guys tell me if you have tried it.
Let's say you have a 6'10 SF junior that is an 87 overall (pretty much a dead lock to leave). Have you ever edited his position to like a PG and his overall dropped to an 81-82? I'm wondering if you could edit his position to make him stay. I've heard the notion that when you're recruiting, you can change your players position to sway in a recruit at a certain position. Just curious if that would ever work. I'm thinking that I'm going to simulate a season and see if it works. Also, do you guys think this tactic (if it works) would be considered "cheating"?

I've never tried to edit the position, although my 6'10 SF does play PG at times (in fact he started at PG for the All-Star team which gave me the idea). If you edit him back, does his rating go back to 87 (+)??
I wouldn't consider this outright cheating (maybe in the gray area) - especially if he plays his new position most of the time. I always look at how realistic is it - and it is possible a player would change positions to help a team fill a need.

Yes, you can edit him back and his rating goes back to normal. My intentions would be to edit him before the draft screen comes up to prevent him from leaving (in March Madness you can try to sway him back to school, unfortunately we don't have this option). If dropping his rating by editing him kept him from being drafted, I would edit him back before the next season starts. His overall would definitely get as high as possible. Sounds pretty dirty, but I wanted to get some opinions about it too.

I have changed some players positions before to fit a need for the team. But my players got better with the switch.I feel that if a player wants to leave go ahead and leave. It is up to me to bring in more players. If the money is there go get it.

Best guy I ever recruited while I was at San Jose State no less was a 6'9" SF who came in with a 85 rating. He was the top player in his class and I got super lucky to recruit him (he was from Alaska) because I targeted him as a freshman in high school. He was up to 90 at the end of his frosh year, to my complete shock he stayed for his sophomore year, went on to average 24 points/8 boards/4 assists/3 steals/3 blocks, player of the year, bolted to pros and is now averaging 25 points a game in NBA 2k7.

nice and what team does he play for in the pro's dww2001.
My best player would be my freshman on my team now who was rated #1 SF and #1 overall player. He is an 82 overall

I drafted him to the Sixer after I completely cleaned house for draft picks and expiring contracts. This guy has taken us from a 20-62 season to playing roughly .500 ball.

I got a PF rated 84 number 2 guy in the draft.
Left after one year he got to a 88 rating.
Led my team in scoring with 18 pts. Also the sad thing was my whole starting lineup left for the pros that year =[

Wow,i thought my team that was 92 was going to be the beest team i would ever have. This is
turning out to be the best team i ever had in my legacy. My current team is rated 91 and we a re only 10 games into the season. We have five balls in ever area expect offense(4 balls). So,this is my best team(with only two SR,but only one plays)
