The Texas Longhorn's came in to Madison Square Garden and with all eyes on Freshman, Kevin Durant saved what could have been a loss to Alcorn St. Durant came out cold in the first half, leaving most of the offense to be directed by A.J Abrams. Allowing The Braves to take a quick 12-5 lead.

The Longhorns would claw with in three at the half and keep up the pace after the break. Kevin Durant exploded in the second half with 18 of his 26 points coming from the second half alone and helping out with rebounds, a problem that plauged the long horns the first half. With an upset out of mind for the Braves, The Longhorns came out of it looking rusty.

In other news, Texas sent out three scolarship offers over the weekend to a Rashon Noel, 6'9, Shooting Guard. Garry Waywood, 6'5" Small Foward, and a W.C Andrew, 6'5", Shooting Guard.

"We were looking for a tall center/power foward" said coach McLeod. "Other schools just got to them first and these were the guys that stood out. Were still looking though"

The Saint Bonaventure Bonnies suprisingly gave Texas a run for there money. Holding Durant to under 15 points only a solid defense effort from James kept the Bonnies from running away with this one.

"I wasn't happy with the win" said a less then thrilled Durant, "It's just growing pains though, we'll get through it." Despite being double teamed and pressured the whole game, Durant still came out of the game the highest scorer on ether team. While James came away from the game with a double double of Ten Points and Ten Rebounds. Something James looks to make a habit.

The Longhorns make have the week off before heading in to there next game, a game Durant promised wouldn't be like this one.

Kevin Durant and company plowed through Central Michigan team taking control of the game early and never letting them back in. With Lewis starting to break out, the Longhorns moved on to the Finals of the College Hoops Classic to meet up with Maryland.

Maryland put up an amazing fight against the Longhorns that came down to the final play in a 61-60 final. With another 25 point game from Durant, They move on to a less hectic calender week. "It was crazy, but now we get some time to rest up and do our thing again." said James who made the game winning Lay up.

In recruit news, another scolarship has been offered, more info on that player as it comes in
