I wouldn't worry about that. Road To Sunday was canceled much earlier in development than APF 2K8 is now.

If the game is coming out mid July...and we have no detailed info on it, no video footage, no screenshots besides the few very early pictures in a magazine, no advertisement...well, it kind of makes one wonder.

They're not gonna put that kind of information out or let it leak out until it's actually official.

I mean c'mon, if this game is coming out in July, they should've been advertising it by last month. Too many casual football gamers know nothing about it. They haven't put anything out to the public to let them know 2K football is coming back and heres how its going to look and play.

I think if the game was being scrapped we would have heard already. Why would all of these sites have a release date in their system if the game was being axed.

Also, look at MLB 2K7. There was much less info released on this game, and it was done much later in the cycle than in the previous year.

For 2K6, they released all kind of devleoper interviews, etc. that ended up promising things that weren't in the game.

For MLB 2K7, the game released on Feb 27 and the first hands on look from IGN wasn't until January 19th roughly a month and a week before the release of the game.

I just picked up on this thread, and other than the childish and immature bantering back and forth, I think the original topic is a valid and interesting one. I'm not saying I believe it's going to happen - I don't - but it's a discussion about APF that deserves a respectful debate.

We're all wondering why we haven't seen any clips, screens, or hands-on previews of the game. 2KSports has never come out and said why they're not releasing information. Many assume it's to guard innovative ideas from EA Sports, but the Madden game is 2 months away from release, so it's obviously too late in the development phase for them to steal any ideas. Some think it's to add "drama" to the release, but I think the overwhelming response so far has been to frustrate and agitate 2k fans (just look at the in-fighting going on in these forums).

If you can't come up with a viable reason for why 2kSports is failing to release information about the game, then a very reasonable alternative explanation is that the game is foundering and that we're looking at either (1) a later release date or (2) a cancellation of the game altogether.

Someone argued that Road to Sunday was cancelled much earlier in its development phase, and that may be the case. They did, however, have screen shots and hands-on previews out for fans to see, so I'm not even sure APF is farther along in the development phase than they were when they cancelled.

Also, if the game isn't being "slowed" or delayed, then why don't we have an official release date yet? 2KSports may be intentionally avoiding an official release date because they know they need more time to develop the game. At this point, I wouldn't be surprised to see a September or October release date.

Again, I'm not saying I think the game is going to be cancelled, but I do think this would be a very viable and reasonable alternative explanation for why we're not seeing any information about the game. (If it's not true that the game is being slowed or cancelled, then why doesn't a mod or employee from 2KSports come in and let us know that everything is fine in the APF world?)
