Here is a taste of what the guy says, then i'll post the link so you guys can see how the thread progressed. One thing about it is, we'll only know if he's making it up after the release, but the gold, silver, bronze system is kind of interesting. personally i think it's bull sheet,...but at least it's different.
Quote:
I didn't get a chance to play it but here's how it works. You start out by picking 10 players 2 gold, 3 silver, 5 bronze. Obviously the gold players are gonna be better (ie joe montana, dan marino, john elway, barry sanders, jerry rice).
After that the rest of the team is picked based on what kind of o-line protection and what type of d-line pass or run block you're gonna have. You can always change this so you're never stuck with the same team and having to rebuild from scratch. After that you pick your type of uniform that you want, ranges from animals, characters and letters. Some have already pre determined stadiums. Honestly the Crusaders was the only good logo and uniform that i saw. Cities are picked from a list so you can't name it some wierd city or whatever. Check out the stadium with the firebird or whatever i can't remember what it was, it was some kind of bird, really done well. Theres this team i forgot i think it's the Liberty or something where really you can only give it the NY city because it would be dumb if you gave it like Alabama or something like that. When you see the stadium you'll know what i mean
I didn't really try season mode cause like i said i only had an hour with it for the past few days.
Like i said i'm not trolling, if you're a big fan of the 2K football games i really see you liking it. If not thats on you. 2K Sports in general have always put small things that really add to the realism of the sprt they do. I own pretty much every 2K MLB, NHL, and NFL series they ever did.
On how i know, i know someone working on it and they let me try it out real quick cause they knew i'm a football fan. Its a really early build. I don't know if i'm gonna get another chance to try it out again. Cause i won't see that person for awhile. But from what i saw it's showing a lot of promise ENDquote

I know, I think it could easily be a lie, but i'm going to remeber the 'gold, silver, bronze' thing so that when i buy the game i'll know for sure. This is the first game forum i've joined and at first thought no one would bother to lie, until i saw that codenamemighty post. haha, we'll see.
anyway i'm leaning towards the thread over there being a lie, but i found it interesting at least and thought i'd point a few of you towards it. lol, i need to take a break from this forum until there is more info etc.

another quote:
It plays a lot like 2K5. Some of the animations are cool. The best/funniest thing was i was running a out route with Brent Jones and when he started his run he clutched his knee and was injured out of nowhere. Gang tackles and break tackles are in there and look ok. Barry Sanders is a pinball out there. As for legends you can see who are really great and who are ok. Too Tall Jones is a silver player but was dominating on the d-line. Is the Euphoria engine the Star Wars engine? Cause i remember seeing this tech demo for Star Wars and something with a football thing. Honestly it didn't seem like it, i could be wrong. Like i said it plays like 2K5 with added animations. It was a really early build with a lot of things needing fixing but it's still like 2 months away til release so i'm pretty sure it's gonna get done.
If it's a hoax, it's well written, and well thought out, frankly I don't care that much, i'm not one for hating excessively. The gold-silver-bronze thing seems reasonable certainly, and if it's not used, maybe it should have been.

Come on guys... read between the lines.
You get a peek at a new game coming back to life and this is the only information you would post????
Stop feeding into these negative post.
How long would you have to play the game to come up with a better detailed preview?
The only detail given was the logo and city names.
Now people think that means not fully customized. What the heck do people expect??
You don't get to create city names. SO WHAT!
No mention of game play.
No mention of playbooks.
No mention of options.
No mention of new animations.
Early build???
If... IF... IF this person actually saw the game it must have been a prototype of what they wanted to create. There is no detail all of you know you expect from a preview of a game.
Take it as BS and just look forward to a VALID preview of the game.

Doesn't sound like a story someone just reached out in left field and made up. He describes a structure for the game that sounds pretty cool. Everyone wanted Euphoria but maybe not. I don't see why people would be angry with this report. He said if you loved 2k5 and loved 2k football you'll love this. Isn't that what we want? See you guys are letting EA and Madden control you. You want 2k to put out a world beating game so you can go rub it in the EA guys face. Let them be and let Madden be fun for them. Be happy 2k is putting out a game. He said it was a very early build but looks really promising.

Dude, Gold, Silver, and Bronze are the oldest ranking system in the book. That ****'s been here even before Jesus was born. That doesn't require the least bit of real knowledge of the game. All it requires is enough BS, and gullible people like you to get it to work.

I never believe people who say "i have played the game already" or "I know someone who works for the company and this is in the game" before any news is released. To me it doesnt make sense that some random person got to play the game before any official gaming source. Two quotes from the article that make me believe this is fake is:
-plays like the 2K football games
-the players in the game look nothing like their real counterparts
Obviously its goin to play like 2K football games I could have told u that the day they released the game, why would they change the feel of the game when all of its fans love it the way it is.
And judging from the few screenshots of the players on the All-Pro main page I am sure that the players will look like themselves, but then again they have helmets on so how could u really tell?

Kind of like a fortune teller...
I'll say it again, if you played the game even in an early version this is all you would come away with? Come on Reed....
Considering all the chatter that has been going on and knowing what people look for in a new football game all they provided was information at the very basic level.
Nothing informative. "If you loved 2k5 then..."
Please. People already feel this way for the most part.
Just like Madden... "If you loved Madden07 then..."
See how easy that is?
Much more information would have come from this person then what they posted.
I'll wait for the previews that can't be disputed as being real.
I'm not desperate for information that I will believe anything.

Exactly. I agree 100%
All they have to do is put themselves in the persons place.
And I doubt anyone here would post just generalized information.
Revealing more information won't reveal who they are or the developer, so there really is no excuse for the lack of information.
Also we all know about some of the functionality in game play we want upgraded, added or whatever that wasn't in 2k5.
No mention of QB SPY????
No mention of DL Glitch???
Man that would be one of the first things I'd see if it could still be done.
I would hop on here and post about that, play call options, etc...
The stadiums, stripes, logos, etc... are all secondary.
Game play is what the so called sneak a peek players need to report on otherwise they shouldn't report at all because they are offering nothing.

Yes that example would be fake too.
So what is real?
- Talk to me about game play. Most of the information given was in the owner interview both video and magazine.
- I don't need to know about stadiums, uniforms, logos, city names, etc...
That is secondary.
Talk to me about game play.
- They fixed the QB Spy and offer more options.
- The game books are one of the FIRST things criticized. Talk to me about game play.
The game books offer a lot of variety and flexibility with plays. There are a lot of plays to choose from. You can customized your playbook.
- DL Glitch has been fixed or tamed down with.... better Ol blocking options, etc....
Talk to me about game play.
The report given reminds me of a Madden report. Filled with BS!!!
If there is a preview in a magazine they will do us no justice if they offer no information on this either. Game play info or nothing at all!!!!

I know if I had tried this game for an hour, I wouldn't have said anything about a "DL glitch". I've played this game 4 years as a DLer and have never gotten this "so-called glitch" to work. How would I know that I'd have to write about something like that to get people to believe me.
The thing I can't believe is that someone would risk a decent job to let his buddy play the pre-build. BUT... at the same time I can't believe a couple of girls would rob a bank and get manicures 30 minutes later or that some dude would walk into a school and shoot up his classmates, etc... ad nauseum.

just because you call bullsh*t on it and it is not proven to you doesn't mean it isn't true. It just isn't true to you. Here is one for ya because I'm sure they have seen it. If it is soo false why won't one of the mods simply say do not believe anything this guy says. It wouldn't take them to say anything about the game at all. All it would take is for them to comment on the poster and his falsity. If he is right in some of the things he says, they would do best to not say anything because then they would have told you about the game and jeopordize themselves. I'm not saying he's telling the truth, but denial is not a reasonable posture here either since nothing can be verified either way. This is one of those, well I'll bracket this information until further information is release. To deny it as false is just as assinine to gullibly accept it as absolute truth.

I would not argue that statement (I did win a FEW online games, though.). But I certainly wouldn't run from a challenge either. Perhaps I'll switch my cat5 cable back to my original Xbox this weekend and look for you. Only thing is... I'm not basing my opinion just on his enthusiasm.
I'm basing it also on the information he is given.
It is all based on PREVIOUS INFO.
I say fortune teller because they FISH out information to determine what might be true.
As far as validation it is really simple to me by asking yourself the question I've asked.
Can you imagine anyone for or against having played the game (sneak n peek) come back with such DRY INFO????
If they were for 2ksports it would be irresponsible for them not to check the most serious issues that plagued 2k5.... Running QB, DL Glitch.
If they were Madden they would report comparisons.
If they were even neutral they would walk away with MORE information than that.
Trust me on this Reed. This person is lying and trying to get their 5 minutes of Forum fame.

Do you realize how much time they would have to spend going through post saying "Dat ain't true".
We've already witnessed BS by people that isn't true why continue to believe the supposed sneak preview people WITH NO INFO other than what we have heard from the interviews?????
Give me NEW information. NEW!!!
THEN maybe I might grant them a little benefit of the doubt.
Denial makes sense because there is NO NEW INFO.
Here is an example.
I previewed the game. Ok?
It will have some unusual stadiums unlike your typical football game.
Jets... Rhinos... and some other interesting looks.
The teams are customizable so you can make changes there which will be really neat.
I played 2k5 and was impressed with how they were able to maintain the gang tackles and one handed catches along with some new animations.
What do you think? Authentic? Sound familiar?

I really don't understand why you keep going back to this issue. The only people who would know to check this part in the little time he said he had it would be all of the online "cheese-whiners" who had such a problem with this.
I, for one, never had a problem with either of these in the 400 hours I logged in 2k5. And as many people that play online, I'd bet there were 5-10 times as many people who played exclusively off-line and have never heard of such a thing.
Some of your other points make some sense, but continually referencing these two points does not.
Actually though... I'm pretty sure that this is not a hard-core player and totally believe that his story is plausible (although, as stated before, I'd be ****** if I'd risk my job in such a way!) if only because if he were a hard-core 2k5 player... wouldn't he have posted this info on THIS forum rather than a generic gamer site like IGN (or wherever)?

I really don't understand why you keep going back to this issue. The only people who would know to check this part in the little time he said he had it would be all of the online "cheese-whiners" who had such a problem with this.
I, for one, never had a problem with either of these in the 400 hours I logged in 2k5. And as many people that play online, I'd bet there were 5-10 times as many people who played exclusively off-line and have never heard of such a thing.

Uh... it doesn't take long to check this out.
It is an issue because Madden HAS taken care of the issue as well as it was left out of the 2k5 version even though the instructions were not upgraded to reflect it.
With that said I'm sure people do KNOW there was no QB SPY feature in the game.
But if the game is going to be made more towards ONLINE play then these are HUGE issues my friend especially if that is where they are mostly exploited would you agree???
I knew about before playing online just from how I conduct my practices to design various game plans and to see what I will have to deal with when I go online.
The only thing I didn't know about was the blocking of every FG or Punt.
Madden handles this by providing a grouped animation that FAKES the entire routine.
This is proven with the glitch threads one of which I witnessed. 2ksports doesn't provide that so this is why people were able to exploit some things.
I don't want the group animation, but I do want something where the rare things in the game remain just that or you do not have to do something extreme to stop it from happening.
Oh.. when I joined this site I was mostly in the Online forum, so I learned a lot about the so called skilled player versus the cheese player.
As for the story there are too many holes in it and my examples are just a small sample of things. Just go back to the GI magazine and the video interview and tell me what NEW info did he provide????
In his little bit of time was he able to CALL A PLAY?
Then why not mention the UI of the game in that respect???
The real news will be out soon and I'll just wait until then.

Yes... those ARE huge issues, but...
All I am saying is that this guy is probably not a hard-core gamer and would have no idea that those are the things that he should be checking out. Like I said... the fact that he put the post on a generic gaming site tells me that. He seems to be a casual player.
He might not even know what NEW news is if he hadn't seen the GI article or whatever's on this site. Not believing is fine... but your REASONS for not believing are not sound. There is the possiblity of plausibility.
Sorry...been watching Law & Order lately! ;-)

so i posted on the forum saying 'not true etc..' and one of his 'friends' posted this"
"Ok, so i have to come on here to let you know my friend yambao isn't lying. We played all the 2k games ever. I was there when they played the all pro game, and everything he said is the truth. He was nice enough to invite me, and everyone should listen to what he has to say. I can say that I remember some things from the game.
-the sidelines look much better then madden
-jerry rice caught everything
-the play calling is sorta like 2k5 but then it looks more next-gen now
-the jerseys looked real sorta like mlb2k7
-i sorta remember that on a screen play it worked realisticly.
-the best part was the music was from classic rock and it was awesome"
...then later the yambo guy posted again, more of the same..there is no way to tell - the only thing that can be checked against the actual game is the gold, silver, bronze system, the 'crusaders' generic team, and the 'awesome' rock music lol. They both seem to bein in their mid teens - it's not very credible to me. Obvioulsy I'm leaning towards bs, but i'll keep those little things in mind for later. This forum really needs new info from the source though, everyone is pis.sed ;)
