It still says the game is shipping on Sept 2.
Go to easports.com and you will see they take as much pride in their site as they do their games.
All around! EA advertises more and keeps their site current. If SEGA didn't make a better game there is no way they would have this much success.
Imagine SEGA doing the things EA does and SEGA could be #1 in the minds of everyone! A lot of people have never even heard of ESPN FOOTBALL.
That ESPN basketball commercial is funny as hell, but the only place I have seen it is espnvideogames.com :?:

You all are carzy if you voted to just work on the games. I see where you're commin from but DAM... If this ESPNvideogames campaign is gonna work... this site is going to need as much if not more attention than the game making process itself.
This is a good start but THERE are many paths Sega could take with these message boards. If we all keep comming back with feed-back of what works and what doesnt, that'll help Sega make an all around better product next year and the years to follow.
When you talk about EA advertising, your right. You see it everywhere. BUT what if EA put as much money into creating a Game as much as they put on advertising? EA advertises Madden year round. **** man... I remember seeing a Madden '04 commercial the day of the draft(waaaaaay back in May). Why does EA spend endless amounts of cash on advertising??? because they have to. EA knows they have an inferior product, but if everyone plays it and everyone buys it year after year, all EA has to do is simply remind (the madden heads) that this years update is almost out.
The one Time SEGA spent TONS of cash on marketing was for the launch of the DC. And look what that got them... the best system launch EVER! Sega soon learned that in order for them to spend endless amounts of cash on advertising they had to cut corners else where. Lucky for US, SEGA choose to make better games and let word of mouth do their advertising.
bottom line
EA wants your money
SEGA wants your support

BUMP
this was a good thread that SEGA stepped up to answer.
