...only $14.99 at Best Buy? Man, I thought they marked it wrong or something, anyway, I went straight into Legacy mode, as that's the most exciting part to me.

Anyway, it's a GREAT game so far, I've just wasted the last three days of my life on this game (the reason I haven't been here). I need a few tips though.

1. RECRUITNG. No matter what I do, no one wants to visit my school. Granted, this is my first season, and I've only barley gotten into conference play, but it seems no one is interested in my school. I'm the Eastern Kentucky Colonels, so I've tried recruiting just in KY, but no one is interested. In fact, the only guy that accepted to visit a game only scored 5 points and 3 rebounds in his high school game. I don't really know if that's the kind of caliber player I'm looking for. So my first question would be, what can I do to improve recruiting?

2. Defense. It seems, no matter how good I cover someone, sometimes the other team just gets really hot and they make bucket after bucket. I've tried different defensive plays, and I double team anyone who seems to be the "go to" guy (I think my assistants suck, they always say "so and so" is a scoring machine, ,and they always end up not being good, and I get burned by some other guy for a half.

3. Turnovers. How do I bring down my turnovers. I used Texas Tech in an exhibition, and I didn't notice any errant passes, but since I've taken over at EKU, I committ upwards of 15-20 turnovers a game. That makes the games very difficult. It ecspecially happens when they full court press, I can't figure out a good way to pass out of it. I need to practice my direct pass more, because I always end up passing it just a bit too late.

Sorry for the long post, but man this game is exciting. Any tips for someone starting out?

Recruiting is very tough at first, no one will be that interested until you start doing well. It's common to get mostly (or only) 1 star guys in your first few years. And as you get farther in the season, more guys will want to visit.

As for defense, you just have to work at it, really. Maybe your guys aren't good defenders.

For passing, try the icon passing, where you hit triangle, or whatever, and then O to pass to whoever.

Sweet, I just got my first verbal commit! A two star recruit my first year, I'm suprised. Does the winner of the Ohio Valley Conference get a trip to the NCAA Tourney? I think a trip to the big dance will help my recruiting. I just got to get over Morhead State

If you have a good first year, you should be able to grab a few 3 star players. I started a legacy with YSU, won my conference and lost in the first round of the tourney. I pick up some good 72-75 rated players.

Me myself I like playing man-to-man; those zones give to many open looks for me, and a good team will kill you from downtown.

I like to check the other teams player rating before the game and see who can do what.

Always ask yourself:

Can they shoot from deep?
*If they can, man-to man
*If they can't, zone

But:

If your team is slow and weak on the defensive end you might want to stay away from full-court, presses, traps and man-to-man; you will get beat down the floor every time. It will also be difficult to play man-to-man against a faster team; then you have no choice but to play zone and make them beat your from deep.

Give it some time, you will master playing D. I can play a killa man-to-man but my 1-3-1 and 2-3 is almost as effective.

The winner of every conference tournament gets an automatic bid to the NCAAs. Except the Ivy League, which doesn't have a tournament, so the regular season champ goes.

...also, the Independents don't play a conf. tourny...need at large bid. O. and even thought the Ivy league doesn't play a tourny, the regular conference season champ gets an automatic bid into the Dance.

My WIU Leathernecks came in tied for 5th place in the conference with CU Atheletics. I won the conference tournament championship and earned a bid to the big dance. At the end of the NCAA tourney the awards were announced. To find out CU Atheletics were named the Mid-Continental champions? Oral Roberts U. won the regular season championship and WIU won the conference tourney. I don't get it? Why was CU named coference champs? Can someone explain this to me please.
