I know this bashing will never end, but Im a fan of both EA and 2k. 2k football games are awesome, but EA MVP baseball was way better than 2k baseball until this year. EA got the rights to the NFL and 2k got the rights to baseball. So what is the difference? We know EA did it first and screwed us all but 2k did it also. So what Im sayin is that they both screwed the consumers. Im so neutral on this crap that you cant just look at 1 without blaming the other also. You guys can say what you wanna, 2k football and EA baseball(not that college crap) are good.

like you said man , the difference is that ea did it first and WAY MORE OFTEN. dont blame 2k because they had to follow suit and do the same to compete and stay alive. besides , ea with their 3 -5 exclusives is not the same as 2k with their 1 exclusive. you are tired of the bashing but the 1st thing out your mouth is how ea baseball was always way better than 2k until recently . your thread fails , have a nice day.

Hey, they took 2K's best game and 2K took their best game. I'm still looking for that Visual Concepts game that was "bad". I'd say that NBA2K4 was probably their worst, and sadly competes with some of the "best". As for Kush Games, yeah...they need help. MLB2K has suffered.
The sad thing about the whole thing. It was already reported as a rumor that the NFL and EA were going to partner up before NFL2K5 was even released. Both EA and the NFL denied the rumor and the NFL stated that normal licensing procedures were in hand. Then EA makes up the "bidding war" ploy so no one looks at them as the evil monopoly they are, even though it was already stated that the deals were in works 6 months before this "bidding war".
Sorry you guys lost MVP, but I find 2K's football loss a much bigger loss overall. The game excelled and continued to push boundries that many never thought possible. I love big business corporations who feed off the ignorant and deter innovation by offering mediocrity. What's even better are those who feed into it and live in constant denial by trying to justify liking the mediocre offerings. "Oh, it's Madden, it's good, but I can't tell you why I think so".

Sorry Kido!
2k deal is not as bad as EA deal with the NFL. First party Devs can still make a baseball game if they wish. Only 3rd part Devs are the ones that are cut out.
Sorry Broh!

I don't care if they make bad games. That happens once in a while. What makes me ****ed is if they don't make any improvements. EA continues to sit on their asses and make little improvements every year. The reality is that it's same old rehashed garbage every single year.
While you look at 2K's history, there has always been a progression of improvement. Whether it be in game play, atmosphere, graphics, there has always been improvement year in, year out.

baseball is the national PAST-time the nfl and nba are the top dogs and if you have the exclusive liscence to either one of those sports especially football u control a whole lot of the market in sports videogames, nascar and golf which (in my opinion not yours so dont bash) arent sports but have become just as if not more popluar than baseball
even though u say both make bad games only ea has made games recently that were unplayable, yet were seeking the exclusive liscence in the sports genres (nba) and that was unamisiously the worst sports game since gameday first attempt on the ps2
even though videogames are big business, but still business is about comnpetition and people wish ea were just another business rather than giving them the business

yea, NBA 2K4 was terrible... it was kind of groundbreaking in that it led to what the series has turned into, which is great, but in itself that game was aful.

god!!! NBA 2K4 was freaking horrendous... i recall buying it.... playing a game... watching shaq get swatted 5 times by Bibby... then promptly turned the game off.... jumped in car... went str8 to the store and returned it... rented live... then threw up all over that game and returned it within the same hour.

I think 2Ks sports games are getting progressively worse and worse actually. I think NBA 2k3 was the best sports sim of all time. I think NBA 2k7 is utter crap. Its easier to sink a 3 pointer than it is an 8 foot jump shot. The art of manual defense is all but taken out, not to mention all the spin glitchers online. If someone took 55 three-pointers in 2k3, theyd lose by 40 points. Now they win everytime because they shoot 75% from 3 point land. If they arent doing that they are running around shooting every shot with Kobe or Mcgrady because fatigue is a non-factor in the game now. MLB 2k7 is a good game, but the HR or K every at bat completely ruins the game. If you make contact, its gone (and no, you cant change sliders online). Madden PC is the only good sports game left. Everything is so extreme and over the top now that sports games have just sucked for the last 3 years

I kind of agree. It's almost definately the greatest NBA sim of all time anyways. Have you played college hoops? That is a great series. 2k5 was probably the best of them..

And you're naive enough to think that they did that out of the goodness of their heart, rather than because they don't have nearly the cash to throw around that EA does. That is hilarious. :rotfl:
