Back when VCQA made the thread, I knew it would get deleted. So, I hit the Print Screen button on the keyboard and went to paint. Save the Pic and uploaded to imageshack.us

Man.... I hope things aren't like that. I don't want 2k games to go down.

Interesting quote from the article:

"While the decisions we are announcing today were difficult and will unfortunately require employee layoffs, we believe these necessary actions will improve the financial and operational performance of Take-Two, leading to greater value for our shareholders," CEO Ben Feder said in a statement.

Note: greater value for shareholders. In other words, they're pulling an EA - focusing on stock value rather than game quality.

Doesn't surprise me. 2K has put out some god-awful games in the past two years. The fact that their MLB and NHL series have been plagued with freeze issues and bugs, along with the horrible marketing of APF, tells me that the company is in fact in trouble - disorganization, lack of human resouces and money, etc.

And given employees haven't received raises and sometimes don't even get paid on time, I would even guess that most of the quality people VC had when they produced NFL 2K5, are now long gone.

How can they dissolve or are in trouble if they are putting out a new game like APF?

It doesnt make sense.

I think its just a scared EA employee

Think about it, if they are actually in trouble, wouldnt it be a bad idea to create a new game and waste those resources?

This is strange post!

Another thing is it talks about Visual Concepts which is a HOT company coming out with really good games and the new APF...

Can you see the weirdness in this post?

This guy is basically trying to make the APF buyers scared of what the future will hold.

He is also targeting the stockowners.

I bet this is an EA employee trying to cause havoc, because they know they will have a big battle with take two in the coming months

The article was targeting the stockholders.

In business, a company can reach a point where it makes more sense financially to cut back on resouces in order to maximize profits, and have the thing fail knowing they can simply write it off in tax losses. I've read several articles in the past year or more on TT's financial troubles. I have no doubt the company is approaching that point - where it's better for them to lay people off, and put out an inferior product knowing their bottomline is going to be healthier in the end. Sounds crazy, yes, but that's the way many businesses work, especially when they're struggling and have stock concerns to think about.
