Is All Pro 2K8 in trouble?

I'm sitting here listening to all games.com review of APF 2K8, and there basically saying this game is not upto Madden standards, and is on old gen system and the graphics aren't good, not next gen. They even said there's not halftime or pregame/endgame show anymore?(God I hope there wrong.) I'm thinking about how even a lot of 2K fans didn't like the trailer, or are nitpicking about stuff they don't like and the game isn't even out. From looking around the net and listening and reading people comment's so far about the game, I'm starting to wonder is this game already in trouble and its not even out. I really hope this game does well, I'm buying it no matter what, but I'm wondering that if this game doesn't do well, there won't be a APF2K9. Maybe its just me but, everyday I'm seeing more negative than positive stuff about the game, half of it is from 2K fans themselves. Between now and the release date does anyone think there's anything 2K can do to improve this game or tweak some of the stuff people don't like. Will 2K make some final adjustments, cause for awhile we all thought they were being so secretive cause we thought they had a atom bomb in a box ready to explode, but early reviews and comments aren't impressing to many people.

We really have nothing to judge the game on. We seen one small trailer that is it. We can't honestly say that the game is going to be in trouble. Honestly I think the game will do fine and they will continue on and make an APF 2k9. We still have to have more information about the game and see more videos to truly say that the game may not match up to what Madden has to offer, which at this time isn't much.

lol this is common on these fourms dont worry come july there will be a line at your local ebgames. these people are just not patient. infact the majority of problems came from people on here jumping the broom assuming stuff when in reality nothing was confirmed. that has yet to change and i dont see it changing any sooner.

OMFG, the guys at allgames.com just said that your maybe better off playing NFL 2K5 upscaled on PS3. Man this game has just been slammed from all sides, by websites, radio by fans, by 2Kfans. Its still odd that 2K would be so secretive about information and videos for this game, but when people get a glimpse or play alittle of it, most are not impressed. I'm really shocked that there using the same last gen engine, what was the point of making just for the PS3 and 360 then? They could have made it for PS2 and xbox. I'm really hoping that these early review as bs and 2K has alot more to offer and show before the game comes out. I'm hoping that 2K didn't play it too safe with this game, and didn't put there best effort into it. They have to know about all the negative press going on about the game right now. They have to make this game sell if they want to make a APF 2K9. I do see also your point though, we need to reserve judgment till the game is out and we sit down't and play it for awhile. You know, all this negativity is based only on the graphics in the trailer and the no franchise. No one seems to care that it may have surprisingly realistic FOOTBALL strategy, animations, and gameplay.

Whether or not I buy this game rests soley on the gameplay: is it football or is it more Maddenesque ********?

Yup ... they really are just used to Madden. And that screenshot I posted looks amazing to me, and screenshots never look better than the real game :D. I don't think they realize how great APF will be, they are just caught up in the high expectations I believe, like we all were with the trailer.

Since when did Madden have standards? if so, please let me know, becuase the game i have been trying to like for the last 5plus years has no standards. To me, its justnot a fun game to get addicted to at all.

Those idiots at allgames dont impress me...Madden's next gen garbge has consistently scored high ratings but it still plays like crap...You take these first impressions with a grain of salt...Didnt IGN rate madden 05 better than 2k5?...People till this day swore madden 05 had better screens thatn 2k5...In the end it comes down to what your are used to...EA admits to putting out 2 crapp.y games on th enext gen and there is no revolt...2k makes a game using an engine that cannot be rivaled and people go up in arms...These game reviewers are not all football fans...They might not know what to look for in a video game....am looking forward to the guys at operationsports to publish their impressions on Friday...That will be my measuring stick not some doo.chies at a gamesite i never knew existed before this afternoon...

From the day this game was announced all I wanted was a game that was just as good as 2k5 gameplay wise. Right now it seems like it will probably be better and im fine with that. To me the graphics are just as good as Maddens so I dont get why Madden is getting more credit for graphics then 2K. And I have never been a fan of Maddens gameplay. To me I didnt like the feel of it, unlike 2k5 where I fell in love with the game the first time I played.

Maybe All-Pro wont be the football game that we all dreamed of, but at least we are getting a game from 2K. I would rather have a choice between All-Pro and Madden, then being forced to play Madden or no football game at all. Unless you count Ncaa but I always thought that Ncaa and Madden were more or less the same thing minus the NFL stars.

I think it's time that Visual Concepts starts publishing their own games. It looks like the need a new fresh start and start doing things their own way. And by saying their own way...i hope to show their fans what they're really made of on a daily basis rather then what they're doing now.

Ya we don't have much to go on. But now with the game about 1 month away it's starting to feel like they don't want to show us gameplay because 2K is not confident in how it looks. I'm praying thats not the case because it's my favorite game, but nothing 2K has done thus far screams that they are confident in the game and thats the vibe thats trickling down to fans. I don't think anyone outside of crazy nutso fanboys are 100% confident this game will live up to expectations.

It just seems that Take Two and Sega (back in the day) just didn't market this game right and not pushing Visual Concepts to make sure that this game gets noticed to the players/gamers out there.

I guess, like most on here, I'm just frustrated because we have some much faith in Visual Concepts to bring us this mind blowing verison of ESPN NFL 2K5 and....we get that, BUT we want more then what they have shown us. We want more videos to show off they game and they haven't delivered; we want more information on the features on what's in the game; we want more cow bell, ect.

With all of the negative posts that are on here...it's sad to say this but, the game isn't out yet and with the lack of info, i'm starting to have my doubts. I may have to wait for a review on IGN/Gamespot to see if I want to purchase this or not.

Note to Visual Concepts (even though it probably doesn't matter), whoever is in charge of your marketing, please fire them and hire someone that actually cares about your company. Get VC on the map rather then having to have EVERYTHING become word of mouth.

I still can't believe that the guy at all games said that the players faces didn't look good? That Jerry Rice pic looked awsome. I don't know what 2K is doing. It looks like with the lack of information that 2K is just trying to market to the 2K fans knowing that they will buy the game. They better start putting out more stuff before this game releases if they want some good sales figures and want other football fans to buy the game. I'm sorry I'm patient and all,but this is said, this game will be out in a few weeks and there is still not much on previews, reviews, info videos. I mean alot of football videogames fans still no nothing about this game.

Everyone needs to take a breather. I have no doubts that this game will be great. They stayed with the same successful engine because some of the new technology still isn't proven yet. The graphics, IMO, are better than the other games out there. They have shown us screenshots and a video. There is still more than a month until the release. I don't remember 2k5 getting much of a media push. The only advertising I saw on it was the fact that it would be 19.99.

I'm not saying I don't want to see more, but we have seen some media on this, granted not as much as the other football game. We just need to trust 2k. If we didn't like their products, would there even be this much interest? I don't think so.

So, kick back, have a beverage, play MLB, make a sandwich, read a book, just do something until this game comes out. When it does, I think everybody who plays it will be very very pleased. Just have patience.

if im not mistaken this game wont be out for over a month. to me thats more than enough time to get thier sh*t together. im not worried about info at this time. im buying the game anyway. even if it is 2k5 in 2k8 clothing. was i disappionted with the trailer? no. im just happy i wont be playin another tweaked out lump of sh*t that has become the madden standard. on ign they got the madden developers breaking down gameplay details with screenshots for info. give me a f,in break. apf is scheduled to be shown at e3. thats when you will get the bulk of info.
