I read all these posts from 2k fans and 2k haters and I sit scratching my head. What were you expecting? Were you all reading the same media releases I was reading?
If you look at the video they released, I thought it looked awesome. I didn't see any robotic movements like I did in Madden. I didn't notice anything actually that I considered a flaw except the guy's hand disappearing into his leg during a cut scene. Oooohh... wwoooowww!!! I would say that if the worse thing I have to worry about is a cutscene flaw, I'm excited.
I'm no animator, programmer, or graphic designer but, my understanding of NaturalMotion was that you could blend your motion captures into the action, and then blend them out flawlessly. You can make your animations interactive with other animations around them. Looking at the video, it seemed to me like that's exactly what was happening. Can anyone else tell where the Motion caption starts and ends? I couldn't. I also didn't notice where any of the players didn't respond to the other players and actions around them.
2K Sports didn't set any major expectations for us. I have noticed that many of the expectations have come from people in the forums. How can you hold 2K responsible for hopes and dreams that YOU have set for yourselves?
You all should be happy that 2K listened to you and created a football game that is probably going to be light years ahead of Madden and your beloved 2K5. I say wait and see, this is going to be a different experience for us all in a positive way.
I've played all the Madden games and bought both NCAA 07 and Madden 07 last year. I wasn't impressed and I have a feeling that EA is going to take the same approach they have taken over the last 7 years. Make a similar game and add some cool features with updated rosters to sell copies of Monopoly.
I'll put my money on All Pro this year and have ten times more fun in an online league instead of playing the long ball cheesers online on Madden for no reason other than .... well I can't think of a reason...
