-a franchise as downloadable content! even though it would put the price of the game at around 70$, i'd be willing to swallow that for a franchise at least as good as 2k5s. all would be forgiven

Then you have no hope at all.

i think it would be a bad idea to have franchise in a game with legends, how would they progress? eventually you'd just get a whole team of generic players, and that would be a lot of wasted money that 2k spent on legends if you're not going to use them

IF 2K was EA then I can see that happening... I could even see them charging for 'new TD moves' (again if they were EA) or charge for greener grass on the field.

no offense man, but that has to be the most unrealistic idea I have ever heard. There is just no chance of that.

it would'nt be that bad and its not that hard of a concept. i know im beating a dead horse here but, just keep the legends in exibit and season mode still have the stuff that they have now. and only in franchise incorporate, where you create your 30 teams or 32 that you want. and play edit season and playoffs along with championship. who cares about no history? just make your franchise with the teams and the logos you design and stuff there. and use generic players. your gonna use them anyway, you can use them there. does not take rocket science to figure that out. but thats my 2 cents on that, dont bother me one bit cause 2k is gonna do what they planned to do anyway.....buy the game or leave it just like with ncaa 08 and the same with madden as well....

the whole point of the game is the legends, its based off of legends, the gameplay is made for the legends, the new rating system was made for the legends etc., once you lose all of the legends to old age, you stop playing APF 2K8, and start playing the Generic Football League. obviously defating the point of signing all of the legends in the first place

eh you'll be on that horse alwayone there amigo. I know i aint dishing out extra money for something that should be there anyway, EA did that with uniforms and stadiums lol that idea is not one of mine ill just get the game. i prepaid already so no tears into rivers here.

one other thing... i think that with the new atribute system it would be difficult for 2k to come up with a steady system for advancement

June 18th, 2007, 01:36 PM
ok, so youre saying that its better to NOT have any franchise at all instead of having a downloadable mode later on? the real reason they dont have franchise is because they didnt have time- this gives them time. and more sales.

and this game is not ALL about legends. that would be stupid, legends is the gimmick, its about football. amd i dont need legends to play football.

i see no problem with offering something that they COULDNT put in due to time. plus it would give them another sale (me)

i dont think franchise would work (see other posts) in this situation, there would have to be some other innovative way to game this game longevity (besides online of course)

if you dont see how franchise would work, then you are just simple minded. and probably couldnt think your way out of a paper bag. its not that difficult a problem to overcome.

okay, i appreciate all of the suggestions that you made in your argument:rolleyes: . as i said before, in my opinion (i believe thats what these forums are about) in a game that is based on legends, doing a franchise with them would be pointless because once they are gone, you would be playing with the GFL, in other words, the generic football league.

if you disagree than give me something else, but a flat out insult isnt really helping your side of the arguement, i do somewhat agree with the ideas that people have had on the franchise issue, but you have no substance in your post for me to digest, or anybody else on the forums, so you could do everybody a favor and leave if you have nothing of value to say.

we are all entitled to our opinions, and i thought you had some valid ideas/points in your suggestion, but i still argue the longevity that a franchise in this game would not suffice

i'll rent first. if season mode has enough bangs n whistles to feel like more than just a plain schedule of games, i may end up buying it.

if this game expects to sell based on legends, then it fails. its NOT based on legends, its based on football and football gameplay and franchise is an important part of gameplay. there are MANY ways to have a mode where what you do in one season affects the next and you can keep track of stats. Dont call it franchise, dont have it go by years, but give me replay value.

this game is a GFL. my response is an insult if you truly feel that there is no way they could do a franchise...you seem inteligent enough to see that it can be done- but you honestly dont think that this game can survive past 2k8 without a franchise mode at 60$.

in my post i didnt say "there is no ****ing way to include a franchise in this game" i said that i dont think it would work, and you have failed again to give me any actual suggestions! "dont have it go by years"? this is your solution?

NFL 2K on the dreamcast didnt have franchise, but it scored a 9.8 on ign, though i dont think that that will be the case for APF, this game does not need franchise to be good. if you're not going to buy it because of that, than thats your decision. and you're probably right that the sales will take a hit because of the lack of franchise, but i personally do not see it as a loss of epic proportions, and i am still sure that this will undoubtedly be a fun game.

btw thank you for giving me the benefit of the doubt on the matter of my intelligence:thumbsup:

thanks for that too its very rare on here when you hear that. to me its not a big deal and im not gonna get a headache over it cause 2k is gonna do what they want to do with this game anyway. its just up to us as customers to say yes or no to buy the game. but hey thats why there are 3 of them coming out. take your choices and your rights as customers people and forget this loyalty crap, because while people are loyal to a company that dont even know their names that company is not being loyal to them case in point a thread like this being made..........

but then the legends wouldnt be themselves anymore, they'd be variations of themselves, and then it wouldnt be accurate

since some are soo hung up on the legends breaking the whole franchise issue...why not just leave them out of franshise? If you think legends are what make this game, then you dont really understand why you want to play 2k8. if you could do without NFL, then legends wont barely be an issue if you wanted to leave them out of a franchise mode.

its not rocket science, the issue of wether they can properly add a franchise shouldnt even be argued. you better believe 2k will figure something out in the following games
