I'm not really mad anymore, since i'm taking this for a great online title, which it will be. But some of you guys freak out when people complain about the game, telling them they need to get online where the real competition is, etc., just getting mad at them.

You guys realize that not everyone has xbox live, right? It costs money, and some people don't wanna spend $12 a month or $60 a year or whatever it is. Like I said, it doesn't affect me, but how are you guys going to get MAD at people for not wanting to pay for/not being able to pay for xbox live?

There is not point to having a XBOX 360 if you dont have online and thats the bottom line.

first off thats just not true. That may be primarily what you use it for, but I have quite a library of great games and never play online.

Secondly, I have live, but I hate playing people on the internet in just about any game. Not because I get my *** kicked but because you don't know what you're going to get. The computer never cheats, and when settings are adjustable I always find a set that provides me with a great challenge.

I am pretty upset that there isn't much for a player like me to do since I don't play online. But, when I first heard this news the first thing I did was play 2K5 to reassure myself that the game will still be worth buying anyway.

I will buy this game if for nothing else but to support 2K in hopes they can get the NFL license back. The game will be fine, though there won't be too much for me to do with it.

They give you a one month trial for xbl gold. I got one when I sent mine back and they didn't even repair my console, they just gave me a brand new one or whatever. I already have xbl so I haven't used my 1 month. lol

Xbox Live is where its at.

If you buy 360 and you are not subscribing to Xbox Live, then you are only using 50% of its true potential.

sorry guys i have to agree. i was majority offline player until all my friends found me on myspace and told me to get xblgold. i did and couldnt be happier. i can bet the cpu in forza but playing online is differnt story, but its fun. the only sports game i really played online was nhl07 and it was fun. my record is 7-5-4. overtime losses. lost alot of games in madden becuase of chessers. im gonna strat a thread for all the sim guys so when the game drops everyone jnows who the simm players are then there will be no problems.
but online is where its at... 60$ for 13 months isnt that bad worth it.

I am going to have to agree, having a xbox and not being on live just isnt using the console for what its worth. I know some people cant afford it or whatever, but live is seriously good stuff. I have downloaded movies. TV shows i have abotu 10 xbl arcade titles. Personally i think its every bit worth the 50dollars for the year.

I don't understand why everyone is getting so damn angry. Seriously, does it REALLY bother you what someone else does with their video games? I mean, jeez. As long as YOU enjoy what YOUR doing, why should you rain in on someone else's opinions/ways to play the game?

We are all on the same ship here, we are all on the 2k fan club no doubt about that. Why are we yelling at each other with childish remarks? We can all agree that Madden isn't going to do it for a lot of us, and 2k8 will probably do wonders for us. (Although I'm still skeptical for now, but that's neither here nor there)

Honestly, if someone wants to spend 60 bucks to play a game how they want to play it, WHY should someone else, across the country, be worried how someone plays a game they payed for themselves and treat them like garbage on a message board?

Is online important? You bet it is. I'm not a huge on-line player, but I would be upset if this game didn't have on-line capabilities.

Is franchise important? Yes it is. It's the true cornerstone of having the closest thing to running a real team. What's so wrong about that philosophy?

We are the consumer, so we should be able to voice our opinions about everything, if we like or don't like something.

I mean, do some of you stay up at night and can't sleep because maybe, just MAYBE one kid wants to spend 60 dollars on a game, and just destroy the computer every game? Or that a few people might *gasp* play off-line because it suits their wants/needs and they don't care about skills online?

Do you come here on this message board and try to stop that and feel better about yourself if you bash the way someone plays in their own home? It's not like we got 12 year olds posting how badly they beat the computer and are posting and gloating about it. If that happened, you might have a valid argument against one or two people. But I don't see there here. And even if I did, I wouldn't care and just let them do what they want, and ignore the childish posts. But thankfully, we don't have that here.

I'm a firm believer in do what you want, as long as your not hurting anyone else. And if a few kids want to do the "beat computer 100-00 win every game" let them. It doesn't bother me. Maybe they have a bad life/day and want to take out some frustrations. Why should that effect you?

Some of you act like that's all franchise players do. When it's probably a small portion of the video game population, one which I'm glad not to be a part of. That would get old after the first time.

Maybe franchise players want to play with every team and every game and run everything themselves. What's wrong with that? Isn't that what a real General Manager does? This isn't a Madden vs. 2k argument. This is 2k'ers hating on 2k'ers for no good reason.

I don't care how people play their games. More power to them. They have every right to play how they want. Online, franchise, season, exhibitions, simulated franchise, tournaments, whatever.

Why should you care what everyone is doing? You should be happy with what YOUR doing. You've already complained about the system wars, now franchise vs. online, I mean what are you going to complain about next? What kind of car someone drives? Or what color someones carpet might be? Get real.

If you want to play humans online and get a thrill, fine I'm happy for you because your getting what you want out of the game.

But please, if someone wants to play franchise and it gives them more of a challenge of the all-around game (rosters, depth charts, play-books, retirement, free agency, recruiting if this we're a college game, salary caps, etc.) your wasting your time criticizing them.

Lastly, some of you online players should be happy that some people might not get this game. Instead of playing someone online who is an on-line junkie, you might end up playing someone who would rather be doing franchise, you might not get their best effort.

What if they like to throw a hail marry every play, or run with the quarterback all the time against the computer? You would be outraged if a majority of online gamers we're like that. And a lack of game modes off-line MIGHT just result in stuff like that.

I'm happy for online gamers that people like that stay off-line so you don't have to deal with that. And you should just be thankful that they play against the computer and don't bring that against you, although some people already do and that can be the bad thing about online.

I mean this online thing is all about "the best competition" right? Well I'm sure you wouldn't want someone who is used to off-line, instantly going on-line and not putting forth 100% effort to play you in a game. You wouldn't get better by playing someone who doesn't try as hard, isn't skilled as you, doesn't care, or is just exploring another part of the game.

So why don't you on-line players just "shut up and play the game" when you get it, instead of complaining about people complaining about something that probably should be in this game.

As long as everyone is happy with 2k's product in their own way, that's all we should be worried about, getting the best game possible, on and off-line.

*********And just for the record, I'm in no way bashing on-line gamers, they make up a good portion for the video game community and I hear nothing but GREAT things about how great online play is, and I've experience it myself. I prefer franchise, but have had some good times online as well. I'm not the best player out there, but I don't strive to rule on-line gaming. Although it is a nice change of pace to play a few exhibition games against humans, I don't have the time for it to take it seriously as most people. This is just for those with the childish remarks, and calling people out for what modes they want to play the game.*********

And you're wasting your time for a couple of reasons. First, you're speaking about troll boy, the guy who comes here to troll, mouth off and say nothing. He's not interested in your logic. Second, he and at least one of his other aliases were kicked the heck off the forums yesterday, so he is OUT OF HERE! Yippie! Or, at he's gone until he creates another trolling user account and starts up again. But he ain't gonna listen to you, is what I'm saying. ;)

Drummer, well said. However you have set yourself up for some abuse. There are people who will tag you with certain labels if you disagree with them. Baandje knows of one in particular, right B? These are the three labels you will find.

Moron (a classic and my personal favorite. This will be used if there is a disagreement involving his narrowminded point of view)

Franchise kiddie ( a gross misconception of the age group of most franchise mode players):nono:

12yearold (age that certain individuals believe franchise players to be)

I myself have been given all three labels over the past several weeks, because I have disagreed with him. I have tried to be civil, I have tried not to be civil. He doesn't understand that it is a game, and everyone is allowed to play it whatever way they want. You know it, I know it, but for some reason, he can't grasp it. I have even went as far as apologizing to him for calling him out on the way he played. But he still chimes in whenever franchise mode is mentioned.

Take care and have fun with whatever games you get.:)

Hey baandje, did he get kicked off again? If he does this on xbox live, and gets booted from there, he'll become what he depises the most......a 'franchise kiddie'. That would be pretty funny.:rotfl:

It's not even that. He lives in a basement suite; he's been unemployed for months; he's hitting the bottle every morning at 8:30; his girlfriend - who has been trying to leave him for a year - finally got that restraining order, so she's gone; plus his dog is in the animal hospital with broken ribs and he has no one else to kick around. So he comes here.

I'm afraid that's all there is to this guy and the 'points' he makes.

UM.......did you just give me an accurate bio of this poor soul, or is this more of a profiling thing?

Either way, it's sad. I don't want bad things for him, I just want him to let up on the abuse. If some newbie comes on the forum for info on this game, and he keeps seeing someone abusing others for liking a certain game mode, he'll get turned off and not but the game. He tells 2 of his buddies that we're also interested, and so on and so on. Pretty soon you have an entire group that decided against this game because of one abusive (yes, I said it) MORON.

Peace be unto you.

I'll probably end up buying the game regardless and just hoping that I can get enough value out of the season mode to keep me happy.

The franchise kiddie tag is indeed laughable when you consider that most franchise players are probably 25 or older (give or take a few years). These are the people who enjoy taking a bad team and making it better, compiling stats and managing each aspect of a team. I typically end up building up a strong, winning team and then take on another team to try and do it again. I can normally get a couple buddies on board with the franchise thing also, so we end up playing each other a couple times during the season and possibly in the playoffs/championship.

I'm sure the gameplay will be excellent and the animations look smooth. I'll just miss the ability to grow a team from nothing into something.

Well thanks for agreeing with me, I know most level headed people would agree and/or understand. I know there will probably be some backlash just because it's "one of those threads" I'm just saying I don't care either way if I get bashed, I'm content with it because these guys won't change their mind, and I just wanted to finally get my thoughts off of my mind.
